It?s a bit complicated but its bold and very original! Typically disturbing while being quite tender, what will Solondz do next?

More than just a sequel to Welcome to the Dollhouse, this is a companion piece. Much more abstract than it's predecessor, Palindromes delves a little deeper into teenage sexuality and it's relationship with self image and self esteem. A very dynamic and off-beat f...( read more)ilm.

The most obvious thing to say right off the bat is that Todd Solondz is not for everybody. His films aren't afraid to explore the most perverse topics, and for that reason they make many viewers very uncomfortable and automatically dismiss them as filth. I, however, feel sorry fo...( read more)r those people. There's such brilliance to Todd's work that they'll never be able to grasp.

A good film makes you examine the characters and the decisions they make. A great film, however, makes you examine yourself and the life around you.

All of the Aviva's were wonderfully cast and really used brilliantly as their appearance not only related to the subject matter at the particular point in the film, but they differed so drastically that it leaves the viewer to wonder whether or not we judge the character different based on appearance alone.

A lot of people refer to Solondz as a twisted director, or even going as far as to calling him a tormented soul. I, however, would consider him a realist. Although he displays vulgarity in his view of human nature, he also shows kindness and compassion within the majority of the people in the film. Despite the extremes of each character's personality, they are very real at their core.

Cannot wait for his next project.

This movie is totally good...if you like kids having sex with other kids, murdering adults, and other such things. For no reason the actors change, but the characters remain the same. I wanted more, because palindromes are neat. I got POOP.

I don' think I'll ever forget this movie. Palindromes is so different! I wasn't sure if I should take the film as a dark comedy or as a drama. By the end I figured it was a little of both. It's a little f--ked up, but I liked it!

    In perfetto stile Todd Solondz.
    Grazie Todd Solondz.

Unique approach having a half dozen actresses play the same 13 yr old girl (to demonstrate that the character is representing all 13 yr old girls) who has a seemingly doting but out of touch mother (Ellen Barkin). The young woman gets preganant because she "loves babies" and her...( read more) mother takes her to get an abortion. She runs away from home and the story moves strangely from there. Perhaps too convaluted to bring it's message but interesting none the less if you like art films.

One of the most uncomfortable films I've ever had to sit through. It's completely sick, but unlike Solondz's other films it lacks the same kind of humor.
