Taking the form of a layman's inquiry in two chapters, the film paints a polemical portrait of the powerful World Trade Organization whose sphere of influence has grown continually since it was created in 1995. The Seattle protests of 1999 made those three letters a household name, but the organization's characteristics and ideology remain obscure. Why, for whom and in whose interest was the WTO set up? Will the mysterious General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) lead, as some claim, to the privatization of such basic services as water, healthcare, education and culture? During his investigation, the narrator moves through several worlds within the same planet, allowing himself to take detours through music and photography, dream and nightmare worlds. These detours serve to remind us that life can in no way be reduced to its sole economic dimension.
