I enjoyed the cinematography a lot - it was pleasing to look at - but as a film, it can't stand on its own. The dialogue was sparse, and just not as great as I think it could have been.
Not as bad as it could have been. Not as good as it could have been.
There are plenty of things wrong with this film, such as lack of dialogue, lack of character depth, plot holes and inconsistencies, so-so acting, etc. Then there is the obvious lack of accuracy in the portrayal of the Vikings (No one should look at this movie as a history lesson!). But I let that one go, because the movie is fiction and they did make the vikings look pretty cool.
The best part of the movie is the visuals. It is a cool movie to look at. The plot had so much potential to be interesting, but yet nothing was done with it.
So much more could have been done with this movie. I am generous by giving it 2 1/2 stars, and that is because it was very visually appealing.
I was really dissapointed with this film. Good story, but people said it was like the most brutal movie ever. The bllood and gore seemed like it was kept to a minmum and it was no where close to being violnet as they said i was

the beginin wasnt bad, but no intensity in plot...
violence action is good, sound effects are good too, but overall it is a boring movie...
the ending is just too stupid...
Really thought it was going to be different with better action scenes and more character development. The camera work was just plain bad, too many closeups and skipping on the action. Sometimes you couldn't tell who was who or where the characters where. It had some good action scenes but sadly buried in closeups.
It?s a Viking action movie, which is inspired from a well-known Norwegian movie from 1987 called Veiviseren (which means pathfinder!). The new version of Pathfinder from Hollywood is a more stylish version with cool visuals and action scenes. The visuals actually remind of 300, which also used comic book look.
I was hoping for a bit more from this film than just a bunch of people killing each other with swords, but for a straight forward action film you're not going to be disappointed. Personally I thought that some of the characters didn't have enough character to make you care what happens to any of them.
Brilliant movie, has some minor flaws, such as Karl Urban always being in the wrong place when others are dying, and the fact he barely talks, but apart from that, I enjoyed it.
Sub par acting and horrible production value (way too dark to see anything that happens) makes this could have been great movie dull and boring, the script didn't help much either, just the idea had potential.
hilariously bad. the only thing REALLY wrong with it is the soundtrack. Instead of standard orchestral stuff, they should have done a heavy metal sound. It would have been SOOO much more appropriate.
is ok. Different meanings of 'Pathfinder' which adds to something of value to the movie. Dont know what old language they used and if its real but it still sees into two very different cultures.
Judging from the posters and the synopsis I was expecting something more... breathtaking? Something that would make me feel as if it really is legendary. End up the movie is unoriginal and completely lacking in soul. Pointless and damn straight boring. But it shouldn't be that bad if you're only looking for non-stoppable actions, and nice cinematography too, just that its used in all the wrong places.
unoriginal and instantly forgetable. The only thing it has going for it is the amount of action but too much slow mo where it is totally unnessecry makes what could have been gripping scenes seem boring. Last of the mohicans is miles above this.
I was somewhere in the middle on this one. It was a decent film with good action and a decent story but something left me wanting. Im still not sure what.
The Movie has a pointless and meaningless story. The preview makes it out to be something it is not. Weak cast and the plot is wack. Its conclusion simply made no sense.
I don't know why everyone gave this movie a hard time... it was beautifully shot, well acted and very dramatic. And it starred one of my husbands, so...
