Do you expect anything less from Kubrick? Great film.
Que eminencia de director un poco loco o mejor muy loco pero esas ideas fueron las que lo hizieron grande
If I'm not mistaken, this film was banned in France until 1975, some 18 years after its release. Compelling movie about the ravages of war, morals and ethics. Kirk Douglas is tremendous.
War movies are kind of like sports movies.
You don't care, and to you victory on either side is pointless because both sides have a voice, and neither is bad or good.
I refuse to be inspired! REFUSE!
A very different and shocking war film that invented the long one take shot. It ends on a bad note much like life.
Har en del "It's acting!" tendenser, men det er jo bare sjarmerende.
Now this is how a war film should be done. Don't be put off it's great well worth watching.
Think Kubrick is nothin' but clinical technique? Feel him rip your guts out with this classic.
The feelings. The unrighteousness. This movie makes you feel the unrighteousness. You know you didnt do anything wrong and did what was right at the moment, but you cant help it. Its war.
One of my favourites of Kubrick's output, very watchable indeed, Douglas is strong and it ends with a lovely scene in a bar which makes it for me
Not at all what I expected, but then Kubrick never is.
this is the way trial movies should be done, the rest are just disciples
One of the most powerful films in history; incredibly moving story. The main battle scene is as spectacular as any out there, but the film's greatness comes from the unflinching story, the depth of the writing, and Stanley Kubrick's brilliant direction; they way the camera moves...( read more)
Fantastic film. Some of Kubrick and Douglas' best work. A quiet anti-war statement set during war time.
The oldest movie in my collection and certainly one of the very best ones I own!
This is a movie about extreme unjustice in 1916 in France, during the First World War. It is not for soft hearts, but I recommend it to everyone!
One of Kubrick's and Douglas' most outstanding movies!
A great war movie, which i rarely enjoy watching. But this one is by one of my all time favourite directors, Stanley Kubrick, and one of my all time favourite actors, Kirk Douglas.
One of the most realisitic, emotional and beautifully made films about World War 1 ever made.
The greatest film I have ever seen. Also the most important. Timeless, flawless, and grand.
Pretty bad, pretty terrible, pretty horrible. Do I need to say anymore then that?
Possibly the greatest anti-war film ever made. Another Kubrick masterpiece.
This just blew me away. The power and rawness on display puts much of what came after (in cinema) to shame.
An look at the kind of military stupidity that would lead the world to warfield blunders like Vietnam and our current war.
An excellent movie that illustrates the point that war is costly and life is precious. And it also proves that you don't need high-tech special effects to make a good war movie.
Kubrick classic and complete masterpiece. illistrates the futility of war, particularly WW1 in an emotionally charged story. Backed up by the outstanding performance by a very young looking Kirk douglas makes a great flick. A definat must see for any Kubrick fan.
Astounding judicial account of cowardice in the face of the enemy in world war II and the consequences of these actions forlorn by the offending officers, and the attempts of a defence lawyer (Kirk Douglas's) moral belief to take the stand in their defence...Unmissable
