Ulf looks forward to his yearly trip with the family, but this year is different. After misinterpreting a conversation about the trip with Ulf as an invitation, school chum Percy sets out with the family on their annual holiday unaware that he was never truly wanted there. Though Ulf's parents view Percy as an unsuitable friend for their son, everyone else on the island - including Ulf's curmudgeonly grandfather - seems enchanted by the amiable young charmer.
