    El realizador francés Cédric Klapisch se vale de uno de sus actores fetiches, Romain Duris (Arséne Lupin, Molière) para darle vida a Arthur, el veinteañero protagonista de Peut-être (1999), una propuesta entre lo surreal, lo fantástico y el homenaje más simple a la ciencia ficció...( read more)n. La película abre presentando la escena de un filme de ciencia ficción de pésima calidad, que Arthur observa por la televisión justo el último día del año 1999.

    Durante la fiesta de año nuevo, Arthur tendrá la experiencia más delirante de su vida, cuando en el baño de su mejor amigo encuentre un túnel del tiempo, que lo llevará 70 años en el futuro, para encontrarse con sus futuros hijos y otros familiares. La futurista París será una suerte de universo Mad Max. Toda la ciudad ha quedado enterrada por la arena, algunos edificios logran asomarse (incluida la Torre Eiffell). Un Jean Paul Belmondo hippioso encarna a Ako, el hijo de sesenta y tantos años de Arthur.

    Si el filme hubiera tenido personajes más carismáticos, incluso graciosos, por ejemplo, desarrollando más esa dispareja familia del futuro de Arthur, el confesado plagio de Kaplish hubiera sido más digerible. Romain Duris está en el papel más flojo de su carrera, y se nota que el gran Jean Paul Belmondo intentó, inútilmente, que su personaje agradara y atrapara al espectador.
