It's amazing how Joel Schumacher actually managed to maintain my interest throughout the hole film, due to the fact that theres really no adventure, it's just a guy being targeted by a sniper all the way through. I do love the way Schumacher edit's it all with the map overlay shot. But since you'll probably be bored the second time around it's probably best to rent if you didn't catch it in theatres.
This is an amazing and an exciting thriller!!! I saw this when I was like in 2nd grade and it scared me, but if I saw it know, then it won't scare me it would actually be a thriller to me!!!*
Short movie, but the fact that it is based in that small space and stronly acted by Farrell. Plust the very stong voice of Sutherland (who proves he can be as much of a mental case as his father.) make this movie great.
Joel Schumacher's creation is just an exemplary psychological thriller! This way it proofs that Joel Schumacher is at his best with just a simple story and a few measures. The plot is suspenseful and unique enough to hold our attention for a time. The cinematic experiment has grown to a brilliant result! At less than a 90minutes during film , Phone Booth managed to have all the excitement, humor and drama it needed! Collin Farell performances were amazing and the combination of Kiefer Sutherland's voice were excellent! Phone Booth is in a few words: a great call!
One of Colin Farrell's best movies, this film is fast paced from start to finish and keeps you glued to the screen. Who would've ever thought a movie filmed almost entirely in a phone booth could be so entertaining? Great script, superb acting, nice direction.
The phone call from Hell comes in this surreal thriller starring Colin Farrell as a hapless man trapped in a phone booth, who somehow is forced to play to a terrorist with a sniper rifle, and somehow the feds think he's the terrorist's accomplice. Contrived and confusing story makes for faked suspense and confounded twists. The idea that he's in on it is just laughable. Joel Schumaker, (who killed Batman 3 and 4), evidently doesn't know what he's doing making action flicks either.
A film I have watched over and over, a genius notion for a low budget film to be filmed all in the same place, this can only work if the storyline is good enough to carry it through with a life changing phone call from a killer with menace in his voice, blackmail provides enough ammunition to control the circumstances of individuals predicament.
the highlights are as follows:
one venue.
one lead actor.
limited budget.
filmed in 10 days.
"Thanks to Farrell's performance it makes for good mainstream cinema"
You hear a public phone ringing, wot makes u so such that d call is meant for u.If Collin Farrell wasnt cheating on his wife,he wud probably have no need of a phone booth and if he was minding his own buisness, immediately he heard that phone ring it should have dawn on him to ignore the call but he didnt cus he was curious and wanted to knw who the caller was,Unfortunately,he is going to be in hell 4 the next 24hr.
wow this movie is brilliant...this has a great cast of characters throughout this movie...i think that the director of this Mystery & Suspense movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expext throughout this movie...this has a good cast of characters throughout this movie..this is an amazing movie..i was surprised 2 read that this movie was filmed in 10 days..this is a good thriller movie 2 watch with a great cast of actors/actress throguhout
Spectacular and memorable movie. Most probably Colin Farrel's performance where in he was finally taken seriously as a true actor. I applaud the director for such riveting visuals and cinematography. Who would've ever thought that a movie which almost totally revolves around a conversation in a phone would be so great? Lastly, the storyline and story progression were just superb.
You would think watching someone in a phone booth for 80minutes would be utterly boring, but actually it is a really good film, colin farrell is excellent in it...intense and huge amounts of suspense the entire way through, right up till that last second...
great concept, and pulled off great, farrell as a cocky newyorker forced to pour out his emotions and admit to some short comings in his daily life when a sniper has him stuck while talking on the phone, iven certain basic tasks, and having to deal with arogant and pissed off passer buys along the way, very stylishly shot by shumacher, great use of screens popping up, showing other angles and so on, farrell is superb in his role, perfectly capturing a man under pressure, a very brisk running time, and doesent out stay its welcome,
