Tex (Woody Allen) chops up his wife (Sharon Stone) in a jealous rage and then burries her body parts in the desert. However, a blind old lady find one of her hands that Tex failed to burry. Suddenly healed by the miracle of the hand, the blind lady can see!
Taking the hand back to her New Mexico village priest (David Scwimmer), the town is suddenly the place of miracles as the hand begins to heal and grant peoples wishes.
However, Tex, and the police officer (Kiefer Sutherland) hunting him, need to get that hand back!
'Picking up the Pieces' was a film that I had never heard of, but was pleasently suprised by.
Woody Allen is his usual, quirky self, whilst performances by Schwimmer and Sutherland are also very good.
The story is daft, but thouroughly enjoyable to watch.
'Picking up the pieces' is a simple comedy that is pleasently suprising.

Lots of famous people in this yet nobody has ever heard of it, not the greatest film ive ever watched but it was okay. IMDB gave it 4/10 so judge for yourself :)

Woody stars in this one - but did not write, direct or produce it. HOWEVER though many just hated this movie - I had to admit it had me giggling all the way. I thought it smart & funny. Not perfect - but very GOOD. A Kosher Butcher living in Mexico with his wife (on the lamb from the mob) who he cuts to pieces one night (because of her infidelity) and buries her (but loses one hand - the one giving him the finger) which is found & kept in a church as a religious icon performing miracles for all - and the plot thickens...

it's definite;y a woody allen film, pretty odd story, but funny if you have the right sense of humor.

the story about the prostitute and the priest was the best part of the movie. woody allen is just boring and kiefer sutherland and cheech marin dont do anything. none of the people make any sense! its soooo not deep! the prostitute and priest are the only thing that make this movie worth watching!

With the cast this has and the premis it SHOULD be a fantastic movie, but the script isn't up to it. There's a good movie hidden in here. I only paid 98p for the DVD though so can't really complain

It's a nice idea, wonderfully shot with an excellent cast, so it's frustrating that the result is just plain dull.

oddly hilarious. found myself enjoying this more then expected. I guess I am a sucker for the "magical realism" though too..haha
