Amazing! Patricia Clarkson should of won the Oscar - she was breath-takingly great. Its such a deep, raw and emotionally engaging film.

A poignant Thanksgiving movie about the pains only family can provide. While I loved Patricia Clarkson, I was very surprised to find Katie Holmes not only bearable, but likeable.

it made me cry when they left
she tried so hard and was so happy when they were there and they left her
    but one last happy memory

This was a very well done film. I was surprised to see that pretty much the whole film consisted of April prepping for Thanksgiving while her family was on their way. I was expecting it to be about their conflicts at the dinner, but instead the film cleverly demonstrated the tension and pain of the family conflicts without the family together, making the ending that much sweeter. It was original and had a very real quality about it. (7-8-08)

Gorgeous. Poignant. Thought-provoking. I definitely want to rewatch this one.

I especially liked that it focused on a few centralized characters.

To be honest, I only wanted to see it when I learned John Gallagher Jr. was in it. It was a decent movie and I'm glad they didn't draw out to two hours. Yay for 80 min long movies!

I love slice of life movies, but this isn't one of the best really. A lot of the characters are a bit all over the place. For the mum that would be understandable, and its fine, but April should be someone we like throughout. Not someone who's nice, then a pain in the arse, then nice again.

Not a bad film, got some colourful characters, but nothing amazing. And Platt is wasted in this as his role is flat.

Regardless of how you feel about Tom, this is an excellent movie about family and Katie Holmes is really good in it!

Judging from this I think Katie Homes can act. Or this was a part of her, which I would have never thought. I think it worked really well and was humourious. I liked the aspect of the crazyiness that goes into cook an important holiday meal. The family dynamics and relationships. It works in everyway. Has a big heart.

This was pretty okay. i like shows that try to remind people to enjoy each other when it's difficult. Plus how many Thanksgiving movies are there?

probably the only movie I actually like Katie Holmes in. Great independent film! Watch it around Thanksgiving; it'll make you feel so much better about your own.

This was cute enough but I wasn't too keen on Katie Holmes. I think if it had been someone else, I might have scored it higher.

Hmmm... what to say about this one... I didn't hate it, yet I didn't love it. I was expecting sooooo much more from it. After all it is Katie Holmes and I believe she is so much more than what you see, I truly think she is talented. But even though I liked the whole idea of getting away from your family to pursue your unique-ness yet at the same time not forgetting about them and trying to keep a relationship, for some reason I felt like the whole plot, the whole idea was poorly developed, it lacked a lot of oomph! The entire film felt very bland. The acting was very good for it was a very good cast though. I think it was the poor direction were the problem lies.

I like Thee Dog Night's song Pieces of April....it looks like it follows the same formula as Adrien Brody's "Dummy." If it does, I'm hooked. I love stories that focus on flawed characters!

This movie was such an effort for me to watch, it was exhausting. A movie that is that exhausting to watch from beginning to end isn't worth it in my book and neither the acting, storyline or cinematography made up for it. What slightly did though was the ending. After such a chaotic exhausting story it had a nice ending but that was about it.

The most extraordinary lesson on family love and loneliness I've ever seen. A piece of indie filmmaking at its best. Katie Holmes has a role that seems written for Evan Rachel Wood but she does a nice work even if Patricia Clarkson kicks ass through the entire movie along with John Gallager Jr in a pre-Spring Awakening role that should be remembered. Derek Luke and Oliver Platt also shine while Sean Hayes shows that even if he is as untalented as Jack McFarland, he is a completely charming piece of guy. Great film!

It's made really nicely. The story reminds me a lot of The Family stone. I think it is very funny and cute.

Before she went down with the Cruise ship. Katie Holmes portrays a honest character in this small film. A quirky story about finding forgiveness ,exceptance and a working oven.

well this movie portrays how sick is the society really how family values are not respected!!!
it is a very minimalistic movie but still it has to go behing a holiday to find the goodness in people if it has to be brought up by a holiday then it's not really there!!
