It's not as good as the last two. It's a whole lot better.

this was a solid film and a great ending to the trilogy. i did think it was the weakest of the three films, but the first two were so good that being the weakest isnt a bad thing. the acting was great, the effects were well done, and most of the story was developed and told ver...( read more)y well. some big things happen to the characters that might bother some people, but i was very satisfied with how the story came out. i did feel that some things that looked like they were significant were not explained well and the big stuff was rushed while less significant things dragged on a little. i also felt that some things had to be thought through too much to make sense because some of the diologue was too weak to clarify a few things. calypso's entire story line was also weak, probably the weakest storyline in the film. overall however it was a fun film and generally worth the wait, but in many regards it could have been much better had they focussed on some key things a little more and left other things out all together.

I think it was a barrel of laughs, fun, action and suspense all rolled into one.Great performances by Orlando Bloom,Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley as well as good supporting performances by Chow-Yun Fat and Geoffrey Rush.It was more hilarious than the previous two.Great movie for ...( read more)all those who like action movies and families. The special effects and scenery were brilliantly exposed by the creative effects department who worked on this film.It is also a film which if you don't focus,it could easily confuse you.Good directing and producing by the team.It was just as good as the previous two,if not more better because there is more action and even a little bit of romance thrown in the barrel.

I liked it. It was too long and a little self indulgent but not as 'Disney' as the first two and therefore, my favourite of the three!

The best pirates movie yet. One wickedly cool flick with lots to offer all the way to the end. Mind-blowing speacial effects, the best since Lord Of The Rings. An unstoppable and unforgettable movie ride. Filled with amasing edge of your seat action sequences, gut-busting laughs...( read more) and imagination that never stops. Johnny Depp once again delivers a brilliant performance as Captasin Jack Sparrow, one of the greatest and funnuiest screen characters in film history. Chow Yun-fat and Geoffry Rush are outstanding. Non-stop tremendous fun to the teriffic and satisfying conclusion.

Bloated with a capital 'Bloat,' , Pirates of the Caribbean seems to delusionally believe its amusement-park ride mythology rivals the thousands-of-pages compendium Lord of the Rings. While the attempt to build its world is boldly made, the further blending of the natural and sup...( read more)ernatural, while annoyingly cribbing from a variety of unconnected legends, proves unwieldy. Gore Verbinski cannot be faulted for presentation though, as the look, although soggy and grimy, convincingly transports to the golden age of warships and piracy on the high seas. It's interesting in this DVD age how At World's End immediately assumes its audience has purchased and re-watched its predecessor multiple times, gone are the inclusions of flashbacks or back-tracking dialogue to get an audience back up to speed. I must admit that I was a little lost with character motivations as 2 years have passed since I saw Dead Man's Chest, so the actions of Will Turner and Elizabeth caught me unprepared. But even at 2:45, there were not many slow patches, and the ludicrous action was confined to the final sequences. Unfortunately the movie sorely lacks is a threatening, or even interesting villain in the British admiral who is as wooden as the splinters flying around him when his vessel is broadsided. Reasons to watch At World's End are:

    1) You've seen Parts 1 and 2 already. At World's End gives some closure to certain characters (although not always satisfyingly) and is a definite improvement over Dead Man's Chest.

    2) Johnny Depp finds new ways to entertain as the ever-resourceful scoundrel Jack Sparrow, for me he contributes half the PotC experience.

    3) Incredible special effects, effectively blending in heavy CGI. From the ships being ripped apart by cannon fire to the tentacles of Davy Jones' 'beard,' great attention to detail went into their design.

    4) Good old-fashioned grand escapist attitude.

    5) Keira Knightley gets to do what women rarely have the opportunity to do in film: deliver a fiery Henry V Agincourt-style motivational speech to the troops.

    6) Keith Richards in an amusing in-joke pirate cameo.

Overall i don't think this film lived up to expectations. I still don't think the two sequels are as good as the first. I thought the film was too long and the plot was too fast paced for me to keep focused on what the hell was going on most of the time. Also all the other pirate...( read more)s from around the world, were totally wasted. Where were they in the supposedly "big" battle at the end. It only involved three ships. They didn't even take part. When i actually did realise what was going on in the film, i thought it was quite predictable. However there were some very funny moments, which were cool.
