  Centauri

  Overall, not as impressive as the original. Lacked much of the fun and energy.
  
  I liked the inclusion of Bootstrap Bill and Davy Jones (though Jones was made up of far too much CGI for my liking). Depp as good as ever - and Knightley, Jack Davenport and Kevin McNally were much improved -- still, Bloom was as weak as ever. Nice bit from Naomi Harris, not that I understood much of what she said. We also have a forgettable new villain in Tom Hollander. Another shame was that less was seen of Jonathan Pryce, who was a good addition in the original.
  
  I know these films are fictional, but some bits were just silly - such as most of the big swordfight. The film was overly long, and really suffered because of Barbossa's absence. He really was the highlight of the first film, alongside Depp of course. Let's hope the third is better.

  Well, the risk they took for this one was to not have all the characters be together, like in the first one, for a big part of the movie. They met each other continously, but in essence, each character had their own story to tell in this movie.
  
  For me, it was well pulled off, the new characters were quite interesting, but still, Jack Sparrow's characters keeps on being the center of all the attention and without a doubt, one of the best movie icons of out times.
  
  Sure, the ending is quite controversial, I particularly loved it. It just brought so many questions that I hope to see answered in the next film. And well, I believe the trick to love the ending is going to see the movie with the idea that the ending is a cliff-hanger and that it won't be a traditional riding-into-the-sunset type of ending. With that in mind, I know you will just adore the ending of this memorable and well-done film.

  I've Seen it twice now, and I am adamant in saying that this movie IS The Empire Strikes Back.
  
  There are massive parallels between this movie and the Star Wars series. I liked the first one better, but wow, what an ending.
  
  Oh, and if you havent seen it yet, dont bother waiting for the post credits scene. Its a waste of 15 minutes watching the credits for a 15 second blip that no one cares about.

  I really enjoyed it. Yes, there was some slow parts and yes the movie was a little long, but in general, I really liked it and would definately pay full price and watch it again. As for the ending, of course it ended with unanswered questions. It had to since 'POTC 3' COMES OUT NEXT YEAR AND IS HALF FILMED ALREADY!!!!!! All the questions ought to be answered or summed up in the next film. So relax everybody, we should only have to wait until next summer. Here's to Will and Elizabeth marrying!!!! Huzzah!

  I really just didn't like it... I probably was expecting too much, but I just wasn't satisfied... I hated the ending! It was the worst plot twist in... EVER! There were a lot of parts that just dragged on... like the whole part with the cannibals and stuff? They could've left that whole part out, all it did was waste an extra 20 minutes of my time sitting there in the theater. The sword fight on the other island was ok I guess, there were some cool parts to it, but I actually caught myself thinking, "Come on, just let someone get stabbed already." It was ok I guess... just not what I expected... I'm hoping the third one will turn out better... I'm not sure if I even really want to go see it.

  I'm freakin' tired of ppl watching movies just because Johnny Depp is in it. WTF is so special about him? Anyways, it's an awesome movie! And it's one of the best endings I have ever seen even though there was "many unanswered questions" or whatever. BUT THE ENDING IS STILL AWESOME!

Johnny Depp is good, like always, but he is just too corny and sometimes annoying. 2 1/2 hours of this was torture and i absolutely hated this film. The first was better, but was still not a great film. A mess of stupidity and bore, not worth a cent...

  I did like how they used alot of the jokes in the first one and added on with them in this sequeal such as the rum scenes.

  Why does everybody love this movie so much?
  I was a big fan of the first one, so I had extremely high expectations, but I was disappointed. The main problem with the film is Johnny Depp's performance as Jack Sparrow, the Jack Sparrow character was very witty in the first one, however, in this one, he seems to have lost his energetic sense of humor that made the first one so great. Plus, the running time is way too long, while the first hour or so of the movie is pretty good, and the last 30 minutes of the film are also pretty entertaining, but the middle section of the film drags alot, and could've used at least 20 minutes worth of editing. It isn't a bad film by any means, it just isn't worth paying regular price for, it's a rental or matinee at best.

  I would be more interested to hear real comments on the movie. The movie wasn't perfect, I want to hear what some people thought could have been better, not this biased "I loved everything" kind of thing. I thought it was good, but I don't think it was as good as the original. Does anyone feel the same way? Read my review, see what you think. I will forever be a pirates fan, though. By the way, A1horselover, it's kraken, not kraker, good review though.

  no well johnny's my favorite actor,and i didn't go there JUST to see johnny depp, you crazy? i really love keira and orlando too, all the characters see, because i loved the first one and because the first one's my fave movie, now it's the second but how can you say that! whatta, and why are you saying this, well i guess yeah, pirates of the caribbean wouldnt be the same without johnny depp, anyone knows that, he plays his character so well that no one could replace him EVER. He's soooo hot, sexy , adorable, cute , nice, pretty , beautifull, LOL all that stuff, but in the second one captain jack sparrow wasnt the most important actor, he didn't appear so often well Will did, so well i think that after watching all that TRAILERS they wanted to see it, well i waited 4 years for this movie to come out, and finally i saw it!!!!!!!!! it's absolutely my all-time favorite movie. Johnny's so awesome. I think keira makes this movie a little confusing, well i can't wait for the third to come out
