"Hulk" beats everyone! How do you beat the "Hulk?" You don't. Because you can't.
This was interesting, The"Hulk" meets very worthy opponents that fills this flick with destructive action. "Am I sick for enjoying the 'Hulk' pounding someone's head into the ground?"
"Planet Hulk" is a plus for me. I liked the story, I liked the action and I was pretty happy with the ending. Hmmm, I wonder if "Hulk" will have kids?

They even fit in a special appearance of buzz-hero of the hour Thor for good measure.

Not nearly as good as the book but still the best Marvel direct to DVD movie.

Solid, if unexceptional Hulk story is bolstered by a change of scenery and a choice cameo, but suffers from overly familiar dramatics.

If you've read the comic version of Planet Hulk you know there's no way in hell the gang at Marvel Studios would be able to successfully pull off a feature-length animated adaptation. At least not in under 3 hours. The story is every bit as epic and monstrous as its protagonist and the most you can really hope for is a few scenes of ass-kicking fun. Fortunately you get just that with Planet Hulk, which tries to stay faithful to the original story but seems to realize about halfway through that it bit off more than it could possibly chew, then proceeds to try fitting 35 lbs into a 10-lb bag plotwise. This isn't to say Planet Hulk c o m p l e t e l y failed however. The fights are a total blast and I'll just say that not all of the differences from page to screen suck (namely with who replaces The Silver Surfer onscreen.) I wouldn't say this one's too kid-friendly and there was no hint of it's comic sequel, World War Hulk, in sight.

How I long for a world where this could be live action. A world where Hulk films could get Avatar style budgets and returns. It would be so beautiful. Until that day, I can enjoy the wonderful Marvel Animated films. This is certainly one of their best. It sees the Hulk sent into space and finding his place in the world (another world). We are treated to classic gladiator battles, some excellent supporting characters, and a final battle that doesn't disappoint. It's running time keeps it engaging and fast, mixing the Hulk SMASH! with a little bit of character development. We also get to see Beta Ray Bill being ass kickingly awesome. Overall, a great comic cartoon film with loads of action and wickedness.

This little piece of Hulk in space escapism is basically a shark-jumping episode that has very little to do with the big green Marvel character that I have fond memories of. A simple and predicatable plot with lots of repetitive fights succeeds only in inspiring yawns of boredom while a better than average cinematic soundtrack gives it more of a big movie feel than the rest of its components deserve.

I am a big Hulk fan and I always have been because I identify myself in many level with him. "Planet Hulk" has lots of Hulk fighting while developing a very nice story and some very interesting characters.

I know all that sounds familiar, but this movie still manages to be entertaining and one of the best Marvel animated films. It's exciting with a lot of action.

I'm surprised, I actually enjoyed this direct-to-DVD film. Typically I've not been a big fan of The Hulk or the Iron Man franchise (with the exception of their live action movies, LOVE those). I was also greatly UNimpressed with Hulk VS except for when he threw down against Wolverine. So I walked into this one expecting to be bored out of my gourd. Surprisingly, I was not. Its got plenty of violence and sad parts (that strangely left me unfazed but impressed by the subject matter).
Also, this version of The Hulk actually scares me. I'm used to seeing The Hulk as sort of Frankenstein-like monster that is actually kind and even a little child-like underneath. This Hulk is a grown man, jaded and always angry and resentful (especially after what happens to him in the beginning of the film). I think if Marvel makes more films with this incarnation of The Hulk, I'll tune in more often. Also, I've never been a fan of the Thor franchise either, but after being introduced to Beta Ray Bill (who I think is one of the coolest heroes EVER!!) I might just tune in for the live action Thor movie that's about to debut (as long as they eventually put him in it, that is).
