The United States, concerned about its oil interests, responded to the aggression by declaring war on Iraq. The program examines the historical context for the war, the positions of the different parties in the conflict, and the strengths and weaknesses of their leaders. Although America and Kuwait prevailed in beating back the Iraqi troops, Saddam Hussein struck a terrible parting blow by setting fire to Kuwaiti oil fields.
