The best one out of all three of the Pokemón feature films. Mewtwo is so cool and so is Mew. The battle scenes are awesome. This is my favourite anime animated film of all time. But that might change when I watch Spirited Away very soon. I loved Pokemón as a kid but I still do like it.
I actually liked Pokemon when it first came out, but after a couple of years of liking it you find out how annoying it can get. This was by far my favorite Pokemon Movie ever made because of the fact that I still liked Pokemon when it first came out.
XDDD well I went to this Japanese thing and my guy friend had a hat with Pikachu ears and got his face painted like it. I had a pink cat ears hat and of course I got whiskers, so I became Mew. Well as a joke a few friends sent us this movie and we thought what the hell, and watched it. It was actually sorta funny if you look at it from our veiwpoint and made Pokemon noises throughout the whole production. lolz
i had to see this twice. there is a conversation in this movie that goes on for minutes on end without anything happening except the characters mouths opening and shutting. and the dubbing isn't synced up.
Probably one of the best Game to Movie adaptation!!! Great Soundtrack, agressive battles (Mew vs Mewtwo) and, of course, everything thats great in the anime.
Yes, I know, it's Poke'mon, but it's still one of my favorites. I have very fond memories with everything this movie brought me in my childhood, and it's always going to have a place with me. ^_^
Yeh. Let's get sentimental about old nerdy cartoon shows, why don't we? xD
Better than 2000..but still bad, this is where Pokemon began that slow downgrade to ridiculous. A movie that could have been awesome was a movie that provided morals rather than bad ass pokemon fights like we all were anticipating.
I was so hyped for this movie, and it was one of the best movie experiences i've ever had. Seriously. It was one of the few movies in my life that i HAD to see opening night (and i did). Not even the new Star Wars trilogy got that honor (although i did see those opening weekend).
Even looking back on this movie, I still give it 4 stars. All the memories that it gives me erases anything that could be bad about this movie. Pokemon is bomb.
Plus, they even gave you a Mew card. Getting that Mew card and watching Pokemon the first Movie is like having sex, two times.
Ok, now anyone going into the movie thinking it's actually a "real anime" movie needs to reassess their grip on reality. It's a KIDS MOVIE! Made for children between 7 and 13 from what I can tell.
Putting it in that context, it's really not bad. It has good messages that are easily grasped, there is action that's paced well for kids and it's not very long. It's not one of those movies I'd let them watch alone for the first two or three times because there are questions that come up and parents should be available, but overall, appropriate.
i became a pokemon disciple in late 1998 and this movie came at the perfect tim e 2 fill that need!!! watching it again recently made me reliase itz good but u gotta be in2 the game!!!
I'm embarassed to say that I actually own this movie. It's totally cute. The part where "Brother, My Brother" is playing and the Pokemons are fighting each other against their will is heartbreaking. However, if you're not a Pokemon fan, you definitely will not enjoy this movie.
Yeah, I was a bit of a Pokemon geek when it was popular (Memorized all of them), but the TV show and the movies are something else. The concept is interesting with the types of physical abilities and the Greek and Latin roots for the name compositions, but these guys never die! Add blood and guts and you have yourself a decent series.
This sucked big time. My son made me watch. If I was on acid, I might give it 5 stars. What is wrong with you people. This was even worse than 'The Manitou.'
omg i remember how big a deal this was when it first came out!!! the cinema was friggin sold out!!!!!!!!!! i eventually saw it, lol!Pikachu's vacation was so cute!
This is a good movie, for the first Pokemon movie and it was very intertaining. I do agree with the dark mood and the violence a plenty that this movie entails. But good story and message that goes along with it. I never how understood the weird voice work with Mewtwo which was with Phillip Bartlett.
