Michael Bay owes somebody money. The shanty village car chase was in this, 10 years before Bad Boys 2...odd. The only difference of course was Bay didn't direct "Police Story" so in this movie some stuff managed to not be blown up. As far as Jackie Chan movies go, this is the best, which doesn't mean this is "great", but that Rumble in the Bronx was "fucking horrible".
This is one of the best Jackie Chan movies I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot. At the height of his career, he performs fantastic stunts (especially the last one in the film) and "Ooh"-inducing fight scenes. Naturally, the first and last scenes are the best.
Police story is a film by Jackie Chan and is consisted by fans and me as one of his best films he has ever made
the story is about Kevin chan (Jackie chan) is a member of the Hong Kong police force who take part in a drug raid that goes worng from the start and begins the framors bus chase scene
after the gang boss is Acquitted from the courts for not enought evidence Kevin becomes more and more detmed to bring him down
what more he having tobles with his Girlfriend may (maggie cheung) who is getting tired of Kevin work and his disregardful for her
Police story was at the times Jackie chan Biggest film Projects before he came to Hollywood
the film was know for its many stunt scene which went wrong the bus scene send 4 strut men to the hospital and the fall from the fall scene nearly paziaed Jackie
the storyline is great and its brings action and comedy and drama into this film
the film is one his best films in his great film carries and is highly recommend by all to see it
Easily my favorite Jackie Chan movie. Crazy sequences and awesome stunts. My favorite Jackie Chan moment ever is when he breaks a glass display with his face in close-up. Awesome.
HELLO
Playground school bell rings again
Rain clouds come to play again
Has no one told you she's not breathing?
Hello i'm your mind giving you someone to talk to
Hello
If i smile and don't believe
Soon i know i'll wake from this dream
Don't try to fix me i'm not broken
Hello i'm the lie living for you so you can hide
Don't cry
Suddenly i know i'm not sleeping
Hello i'm still here
All that's left of yesterday
Before anyone in America knew what action really was Jackie Chan was ahead of his time. Some of the best stunts of any of his movies. The fight sceens are more violent then most Chan films. Great Movie!
Jackie Chan in one of his best movies. Long before the cheesy hollywood flicks, Jackie delivers on action, stunts, and comedy in this Hong Kong classic.
Masterpiece from the genius Jackie Chan where show us his incredible and very hurts stunts, i always wonder how can risk his life for entertaing the audience, is truly amazing.
In some aspect the movie looks old (the cell phones for example =P), but damm, with the fight in the mall and the really beautiful Maggie Cheung, the film is a must see.
A very emblematic film from Jackie and from HK cinema, the one that started a solid fusion between MA and urban crime movies. Ripped off by Tango & Cash and Bad Boys 2, but of course, without the charisma and charm of good ol Jackie. Plus, Maggie Cheung is just too damn lovely.
Jackie went on to improve himself with other films, but this one certainly still stands even with the brick cell phones and such. Movies where the main character jumps to a pole filled with lights inside a shopping mall are not something that comes out every day. Screw CGI and over blown budgets, just hardcore actors doing hardcore stuff. The whole final sequence in the mall is insane.

REVIEW: Part 1 plot: A Royal Hong Kong police officer assigned to Operation Boar Hunt, Chan Ka Kui (Kevin Chan in the International versions) is assigned to keep watch over a Prominent HK Drug Lord, Chu Tu (Yuen Chor) while he makes a drug deal in a shanty town somewhere in Hong Kong's New territories. Him and his fellow police officer (can't remember his name but he is played by Mars) keep surveilance over his secretary, Salina Fong (Brigitte Lin) however she sees them and tells Chu Tu. The Triads escape out of the town and hijack a Double Decker Bus with Ka Kui not far behind, running after the bus with an Umbrella. He is eventually able to capture the Triads and bring them into police custody, Salina is released, as she would be a vital witness to help prosecute the Triads. Ka Kui is put in charge of protecting her...
REVIEW Part 2 Verdict:
I love this movie. If i had to name Jackie's best action movie not starring Yuen Biao or Sammo Hung, this would be it. Rare for this kind of movie, Jackie does turn in a fine dramatic performance at one point in the film, where he is framed for killing a crooked cop, while the other performances are not the greatest ever, they are still good, especially for a HK action film. Special Credit goes to Lau Chi-Wing, who plays the Lawyer, Bill Tung-biu (uncle Bill) and Kwok-Hung-Lam (Inspector Raymond Chou) for fine Comedic performances. Enough on the performances, the action is what you would expect from a JC film and Action is what Police story Delivers!, each action scene is memorable and a standout, i won't go into detail here, go see the movie for yourself!
In short, Highly Reccomended for anyone who like action and a must-see for every Jackie Chan Fan!

In my teens I have to admit that I did see a lot of Chans movies, but I never really liked them, except for the fights of course. This I do like though.
this movie was just amazing simply put. classic Chan. the stunts in this movie was just out of this world, breathtaking stuff. No wires, no CGI. its all him and his stunt team, who deserve equal credit. PHENOMENAL movie!!
