Plot: They're back! The restless spirits of the unburied have followed the Freeling family to their new home.
soooo scary ( still cant watch this with the lights out lol) the old creepy guy in this scares the beejeebas out of me lmao
Great movie!
Particularly in the sense of a sequel, but not as great as the first. This second installment has a new director, Brian Gibson. However, it centralizes upon the history of Kane and his followers. Interesting story plot that also ties in the remarkable capabilites and gift that Carol Anne, her mother, and her grandmother all possess. Let's not forget the introduction of Tangina's friend, Taylor. The Late Will Sampson's character that brings forth the native cultural aspect within this story. A fascinating tie-off. The native cultural factor within this movie reflects upon the "Warrior" aspect, clearly seen in the beginning of the movie. As Taylor travels to the top of Spider Rock, a sacred site of the Navajos. (FYI-Spider Rock is located deep in the Canyon de Chelly in Chinle, Arizona) to meet a spiritual guide who thus, gifts him with a warrior spear to "go to war with the evil spirit". The dialogue is a little difficult to comprehend, but it is there nonetheless. Great cast! Tons of Anglo/Native humor. Worth-seeing. Gotta love Julian Beck. Gotta love the music!! This is among one of my all-time favorites.
I kinda thought this one was creepier then the first one. I think it was the evil ghost guy that did it.
Not as good as the first movie or the third movie, but I guess you have to watch it just for the continuity. I didn't like how Craig T. Nelson's character was possessed by the evil and came after his family. The whole point of the poltergeist movies is family sticks together.
Generally speaking the sequal never really lives up to the original, but in this case its actually pretty good!
Not quite as classy as the first, but far scarier. Amazing villain - so freaky - traumatized me as a kid who easily sat thru other horror series.
This near-unwatchable sequel capitalises on the momentum generated by its predecessor, with nothing new to offer in its elaborately pointless story. This lame, dull film, trying to generate fear with a vengeful tequila worm and evil dental braces (no, I'm not kidding) concludes with a saccharine finale reminiscent of Christian-TV cartoons.
Chilling sequel is, in some ways, scarier than the original. Julian Beck is absolutely terrifying as Reverend Kane, and the rest of the actors, especially Jobeth Williams, turn in astounding performances once again. Great special effects for the time.
Honestly I think this film may be scarier than the original. It screwed me up as a kid. The evil ghostly Reverend Kane is the scariest man ever put on film. Horrifying! Throw in a giant worm midget person coming out of Craig T. Nelson's mouth and you have some really screwed up nightmares.
I thought this one is better than the first one. The old man that comes out of the dads mouth then he starts crawling. That was nasty.
The sequel to the highly successful horror film is no-where near as good as the original, but it's certainly good for a few scares and chills. Reuniting most of the original cast (with the exception of Dunne, who was murdered not long after the first film was released), the stage is set for quite a pointless rehash/remake of the first film. Now the Freeling family have moved away from their old home, but they start experiencing more supernatural phenomenons as the ghosts return for another haunting. Not surprisingly, the ghosts are still after young Carol Anne (O'Rourke, R.I.P) with sinister, malicious plans for her. An Indian named Taylor (Sampson) arrives to help the family rid the supernatural forces forever. Basically the same as the first film, save for a few minor alterations. There are a few memorable moments and genuine frights, but it's a completely unnecessary continuation of an already perfect horror film. The special effects were something special though. A very disappointing result!
Cain scares the living crap out of me. No joke. He is the scariest movie villian to me ever. "God is in his Holy Temple"
Not better than the first, but wayyyy better than the third.
"Let me in!" That scene was just too damn creepy.
Pretty lame compared to movies today. The skeletons and worm monster were pretty cool but thats all this movie had going for it. I do want to see the 1st one cause I hear its good.
this movie is really cool. it follows up on the 1st movie and how it happened. it explains everything really good and i loved it soooo much. poltergeist is a great movie and every1 should c it! the old man is a ghost and no one knows it until the mom has a vision of wat actually happened there when the ghosts came. this is a awesomely must c movie!!
Horrible sequel and hokey Native American elements really buried this crap movie for me. Sorry Sampson it was crap.
A really, really strange film and it looks like the director took acid before filming this because some of the stuff on this is truely fucked up
Even though it had a couple of jokes in it, this was actually a very stupid movie. The acting in this was atrocious. I couldn't believe I was watching the sequel to this.
Wow!!~ this movie definitely surpassed my expectations! I actually enjoyed it more than the first one!
I miss Heather O'Rourke, I love this movie they hereeee hehe :D carol anne so cute I just love her xxxxxxxxxx
R.I.P. Heather O'Rourke
They're baaaaaack! Fine scary ghosts, but spectacular special effects and excellent ensemble acting.
...If they're back, the exorcists obviously did it wrong the first time, and they should have never ended it.
