this movie brings in a creepy setting some decent acting but overall the story is great are there places like this and is everbody brianed washed just watch it
This is a story about a town which has had the same population for over 100 years. A census taker comes to investigate how this can be. He certainly finds out. The movie is a bit predictable in parts, but that was not detracting from the movie being interesting. I liked it. They say it's a horror or a drama movie, but really it's a suspense. It is very M. Night Shamalan-y.
Well, I like the idea of the movie, and the tagline, 'The Residences of Rockwell Falls are dying for you to visit.", literally dying..
It was quite suspenseful, and scary...
A village with Christian fanatics that will kill one person for each birth and anyone who spend a night there, and then brainwash them...
Census taker finds himself trapped in a town where the population never changes for sinister reasons. Fred Durst is surprisingly decent as the sheriff's deputy, and if you've seen The Wicker Man before, you'll see where this is going pretty quickly.
Pretty decent thriller with Jeremy Sisto playing a census taker visiting a town where the population has stayed the same for decades. Kind of a modified version of Shirley Jackson's The Lottery. Nothing really noteworthy here although Fred Durst actually puts in a good performance as a deputy.
pretty good movie, could have been alot more creepier and eerie though. the people seemed too normal. the only thing eerie about them was when they hung that woman
I did like it. As someone mentioned it's a little like "The Village" and "Wicker Man". It was done pretty well, I was really surprised. I found this in the Horror section though, kinda wonder how it got there...
Those who liked "The Village" or "The Wicker Man" will also like this.
It's a good Thriller. Not the best I've seen, still, it's a good movie, with good acting and decent directing.
It does have a great concept, so I wouldn't be surprised if sooner or later we get a.. remake?
i thought fred durst "mr potato head" was gonna be pants but he was alright... the film in itself was quite creepy. i liked the idea of a whole town of yokels being equally brainwashed or entrapped and having the whole town after you. another horror about country folk! yah, it was enjoyable for a watch in the evening in the dark. it ended well too
This is obviously a movie made with a very low budget and low other resources. The movie however manges well with its limited resources and its good for what it is, although obviously its hardly a genre classic or anything else too remarkable.
Rented the DVD last weekend. It's abt how this sicko town maintains its population at EXACTLY 416. Nothing more nor less. As usual, interesting storyline just to be ruined by a dumb-ass ending!
this is a bit of a strange movie. you are welcome into this town that has 436 population. not one more not one less. when someone dies someone is born and if you is birth and there is not a death, the community votes on who shall die. an accountant from the irs is sent to this town to audit for the government then the weird things start to happen.
A decent thriller with an unique plot, Pop/436 tells a story of a small town that through over 100 years has kept a constant population. The story is adequate, but a good background score and another excellent performance by Jeremy Sisto (who was excellent in Paranoia 1.0) is able to keep the audience interested for the 90 min runtime.
Don't expect anything extraordinary from this movie, but in a day and age where over budget movie miss the mark time and time again, Pop/436 is a rare treat which is worth a view.
