MCT:February 8, 2008Whitewashing of Jeremy's shady career. Apparently this guy is not the lovable hedgehog he's portrayed as here if you read anything serious about him (Cinema Sewer has an interesting article on his multiple rape accusations). It's sad how desperately this film and Jeremy himself want to make him a pop culture phenomenom.

This is a great documentary with an honest view of the porn industry and how one person lands in that world. Ron Jeremy is genuine and sincere in his recollections and opinions - this is a very engrossing film on an industry that society hates and craves with equal passion.

I expected it to be pretty much fluff; a series of visual candy pieces woven together without substance, riding on the exotic allure of a docu on porn. But it's the opposite. This isn't just a documentary on Ron Jeremy, the most loved/hated male porn star, it's about the man inside the label of 'Porn Star'. Featuring several interviews with his friends and associates, you get a deeper understanding of this very ordinary man. Some people love him, some abhor him. But underneath all the controversy, he's just a normal chap, with all the insecurities of the everyday man. And this docu brings that out perfectly.
