    Pretty stupid.
Probably the worst movie made this year.
Your reputation isn't getting any better Uwe Boll.

I love how utterly taboo this flick is, a perfect slap in the face to the over dramatic BS we are subjected to everyday.

Stupid, retarded but surprisingly has some funny moments. I hate what Uwe Boll does (spoil great video games by turning them toi shitty movies), since this game is stupid - he couldn't go far from the point

Absolutely outrageous. The muslim jokes are hilarious! Be warned, very vulgar and extremely offensive.

Looks like Boll can add comedy to genres he isn't any good at.
Sure it has a few chuckles but then the expression about monkeys and typewriters comes to mind.

The best film Uwe Boll has done so far, but that is kinda like looking at a few piles of shit and determining which one smells the most pleasant.

I can imagine this is a highly controversial film in the US haha its laden with very dark black humour and is possibly more filled with satire than Robocop, at least satire thats strong for this time. Black comedy is an understatement, this is down right pitch and pretty strange too.

Much like a real computer game or the actual game (which I have never played by the way) there isn't really any story for this film, just a couple of guys who need to steal a ton of cuddly dolls to make money, one to escape his shit hometown the other to pay of a huge tax bill. At the same time the Taliban wants the dolls too.....and of course to blow up the western world. Its very weird and doesn't make any sense really, its just a long gun battle with many many deaths and typical cliched characters, but that doesn't mean this is a bad film.

The little sequences where Bin Laden chats with Bush are actually very good and quite genius :)
Boll has strong opinions here ;) much like a Michael Moore film there are so many references like this strewn throughout and the ending pretty much sums up the whole feel of the film and the real world to a degree.....scary :(
Whats more scary is the beginning of the film with a quite close to the bone sequence of an airliner being flown into a skyscraper hmmm :(
The cast are all unknown virtually and do an ok job, the main lead Ward is actually pretty good as a everyday guy who slowly becomes a gun totting mad max style vigilante. There are plenty of sexy girls, Boll makes a cameo defending his films and himself....but ends up getting shot in the nuts haha
numerous bizarre deaths with little or no consequences....and that includes babies and kids getting blown away or run over, cops with no morales etc.... its just yr everyday GTA style computer game on the big screen.
In that aspect Boll has made a very good film which could be the closest thing to a perfect computer game adaptation, its close to source material, its clearly made for the right age group and hasn't been watered down and it does actually look like a free roaming GTA style game.
The fact that it doesn't really make any sense and has no meaning doesn't really matter.....its a film based on a violent computer game which has no real point to it accept to run around and kill people.
Depends how you look at it...
Very clever in places with strong yet clearly comicbook/computer game style violence and probably Bolls finest hour so far.

Not bad, even has a few amusing moments, but spends more time trying to be offensive and edgy than it does making you laugh.

Better than the rest of Boll's films, but that's not necessarily a glowing endorsement.

    Rental? Cable?

First off, this is my first Boll experience and I must say straight out that from my exposure to his work the dude is a genius. He has created the most ridiculous epic of the 21st century and I really hope this becomes a cult classic because I literally could not stop laughing or crying out WTF!! the entire film.
This movie has everything from gay people to shooting kids to midgets to orgies to getting raped by monkeys (WTF!??!??!?!)
Plain and simple this movie is freaking amazing and please don't sell yourself short by labeling it as an Uwe Boll films because you will be missing out on an amazing movie.

P.S do not I reapeat DO NOT watch if you are easily offended or grossed out lol

Uwe Boll makes the leap from unintensional comedy to the deliberate kind, and the result is (lo and behold) nothing short of a flop. Altough this seems to have been made with a twinkle
in the eye, I couldn't ignore the fact that most of the gags were irritably cheap and unfunny. Add some of the worst directing imaginable to that fact, and you have a random mess of a movie that, despite being okay for the most part, should never have been made. So congratulations to Mr Boll, for once again failing to create something decent and worthwhile. Go figure!

Well here we are another video game movie from what some if not most call *the worst director of all time* Uwe Boll say what you will about the guy but someone keeps paying him to make these movies and this one wasnt that bad at all just straight insaneness from start to finish. A laid off loser teams up with his cult leader uncle in a scam to steal a certain kinda riches but turns out the taliban wants it also thats when things get crazy, Decent amount of humor and way over the top violence make this worth a look just try and look past the fact its directed by boll

Surprisingly funny. A well done bad movie with interesting elements of meta-humor and a political message. Way better than I expected from Uwe Boll. For fans of other smart-dumb comedies like the Harold and Kumar films or Army of Darkness I recommend this.

Fairly funny movie with a lot of familiar faces whose names I didn't know. I see here that Gary Coleman was in it but I didn't recognize him at all. Not quite as funny as it should have been. Worst of all was having to see Dave Foley's manliness in all it's glory. Yikes.

Was a bit dissapointed as I had very high expectations. Interesting themes and funny overall. At one point the development is too short or not detailed enough for what it's aiming for. Nonetheless, this is better than most of the Hollywood mainstream, so I'll recommend it as a location let's say.

We all know that Uwe Boll is one of the worst directors of all time, and that's something I believe will never change. I love giving people chances, even if they're complete failures since the beginning, though my sympathy doesn't expand to Pauly Shore's level, which he shares with Tom Arnold and the makers of Meet the Spartans. Postal is based upon a video game, the typical outing for Boll and after seeing it, I can't see this being a video game in the slightest, the story doesn't have that game like structure. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but when you even look at Boll when he's trying to make something feel unique he falls flat on his face, he's just not a good storyteller. Overall I'm one of the few who doesn't hate this guy, he's doing what he loves, making bad movies, but he's getting better. Postal is an example that Boll is becoming more of a filmmaker than visual torture creator, but Postal is also an example that he still has a long way to go.

Postal does have a pretty nice cast, but the things it does with it isn't all that, exceptional, to the point where I just don't get why these guys signed up for this crap, especially when Uwe Boll's name is on it. I can see someone like Dave Foley doing this, his finest hour was when a Bug's Life came out way back, but J.K. Simmons, who's character is killed brutally and his overall screen time was so small, didn't make sense. However Boll does it, he gets some good people to carry out his corrupted dream. Even Mini Me is in this, but no one cares about him since Austin Powers went sour. The film throughout does get the actors running around, doing a lot but that doesn't do anything at all for the movie. I believe that most involved were all in their for just a quick buck. Must admit though, Uwe Boll had a funny cameo in which he ended up getting shot and at that moment, everyone around me cheered. At least Boll knows how to make fun of himself, but not how to take himself seriously.

The movie runs on being extremely vulgar and violent, I have never seen a movie like this trying to be so flippin offensive it boasts about it every second. And unfortunately, it doesn't end up being all that funny. I must admit I laughed maybe about five times, the hardest when Boll was shot brutally to death, but then it brings on a whole montage of kids getting killed, dick shaped children's dolls and Osama Bin Laden taking a break from making threatening videos and watching Oprah, it just gets either disturbing or unfunny. It spends too much time being those things and not enough time being unique, in a good way, there's good unique and there's bad unique, Postal reeks bad unique. And so, when you're not laughing those five times, you're wanting to boo at the bad political satire or barf at the disturbing stuff Boll just loves to show.

In the end, Postal is Boll's best film so far, but again, that isn't saying much. You still get that shallow experience feel when you're watching and see that it really was just a cheap ploy to get your money, which it actually failed to do in the end, you're risking a lot when you open the same day as Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull. It's nice though that through the whole thing you're not getting lines like:

"Why would you want to be immortal?"
    "To live forever."
    MAN THAT STUFF IS BAD!

Uwe Boll's first upper-tier unwatchable effort, granted it was funnier than Date Movie but for none of the reasons Boll intended. Worth watching if only to see a scene where Boll admits that he funds his movies with "nazi gold" and to see him getting shot in the crotch proclaiming "I hate videogames". Classy.
