Plot: When well-meaning but somewhat dim Arbie returns to the spot of his first(and only) romantic encounter with his high school sweetheart--the not-so-romantic Ancient Tromahawk Tribe Indian Burial Ground...( read more read more... )--he is shocked to discover two horrible realities: Not only has the graveyard been bulldozed to make room for the newest fast-food "American Chicken Bunker" chain restaurant, but after only one semester at college, his girlfriend Wendy has been transformed into a left-wing, lipstick-lesbian liberal, and spends her free time protesting the corporate takeover of America. Reeling from heartbreak and a brutal beating from Micki, Wendy's new activist girlfriend, Arbie channels his spite into applying for a job at the very restaurant they are protesting against. But something else is feeling wronged by all of the construction and commotion--something not human. Meanwhile, Arbie and his colorful co-workers slowly uncover the supernatural secret of the American Chicken Bunker, while the owner General Lee Roy tries to keep a lid on the scandal, lest it taint his growing empire. But once workers and customers start dying in bizarre and grotesque ways, it becomes clear that this isn't just a mild case of salmonella, but something much more FOWL. Will Arbie and his friends stop the demons before they infect all the artificial foodstuffs, the customers, and the world beyond? Will Arbie be able to win Wendy back now that he's making minimum wage? What's Carl Jr. doing with that frozen chicken? And what's with all the singing and dancing?

hmm zombie chickens could be fun, not an original idea though as another farm animal (sheep) are already zombiefied. Well it was a long time ago I saw a Troma movie.

I make no bones (Native American or chicken bones notwithstanding) about my love for Troma. Though all Kaufman's films are incredibly stupid, they are also very funny, gory and quite endearing. I've read both his books and I am really impressed by his "get it done at all costs... except money" attitude. Poultrygeist is one of Troma's better outings, with some truly hilarious scenes and some stomach churning (but also hilarious) gore. Made in pretty much one location with no-name actors, I'm sure this will go on to a cult following. Now I get to look forward to the documentary on the DVD, which in most cases are better than the movie itself.

So Troma had never sparked an interest in me before but it seems that you strip away the gore, ridiculousness, and gags we have social commentary in serious form. I read a review of this film and it got a great grade but I'm not sure my first experience with Troma should be this unbelievably gory film...Toxic Avenger maybe?

what a bizarre film yet amazingly entertaining!!this is a political,musical-comedy homo-horror-should i be allowed to use this term to describe this film as you have to watch this film.its strongly influenced by possibly peter jackson's early pieces such as BAD TASTE and BRAIN DEAD.watch this film because seeing is believing and you are in for one of the most twisted films ive ever seen!!!

I love Troma, but most of their movies are hit or miss. Either they're extremely entertaining, or they're just plain bad and/or boring. Luckily, this was one of the great ones. Troma rises from the ashes of the worthless Tales From The Crapper with a top-notch gory romantic musical that will go down along with Toxic Avenger, Class Of Nuke 'Em High, Tromeo & Juliet, and Terror Firmer as the greatest Troma movies of all time. Hopefully this won't be the last Troma movie, as I've heard a lot of people say. But if it is, they've certainly gone out on a good note.

I worked at the Toronto premiere of this ridiculous piece of garbage. The sad part is more than 500 people showed up, and nearly all of them were dressed up as zombies to get a discount on their tickets. Just two seconds of the flick itself was too much for me. It can be summed up in three words. Feathers. Machine Guns. Musical. Okay, that's four words. I'm sure you get the idea.
