  Who is the real predator? This sequel follows our world's finest killers being dropped onto a game reserve. The problem is that they're the game. Adrian Brody gives a solid perormance, as usual. And, once again Topher Grace appears as a comical psycho. This movie brings back that spark from the first Predator film. With loads of action and some fun twists, Predators is an excellent sci-fi adventure for the 21st century audience.

  After the very disappointing Predator 2, I had some concern when a new predator film was announced. However, after finally watching it,I felt not fully satisfied,but found a far more deserved sequel to the orginal monster masterpiece. Firstly, looking at the positives; Adrien Brody, who plays as Royce, a mercenary and the main character. I can truly say that Brody pulled off a rather impressive performance, along with Lawrence Fishburne and Alice Braga, they give a rather promising cast of actors. The story gave an interesting twist of humans being abducted and hunted, but prehaps used too much from before. I will say that the violence in this film was not up to the high standards left by the first film,but is at a level that has some violent elements that feel very much like the predator would do, such as violently ripping out a human's spine and skull and blowing up a human with a plasma cannon. Now to look at the negatives. It is fairly predictable to know which characters die and those that survive. Secondly, I remember the first film built up its tension by having the men staring into thin air, knowing something's there. However, this happens only once and the majority is mostly guns blazing action. Going to the intense fighting scenes, I felt disappointed of haw the last two kills are both the same technique of beheading, prehaps having different ideas would've made the fighting moments more interesting to watch. Finally, I kind of knew that Topher Graces character, who is supposedly a helpful doctor turns out to be a psychopath, as the quiet one usually are the violent ones. However,he did give a clever performance. Predators may not be a great satisfaction to those awaiting a decent sequel, but it gave a better effort in accuracy,action and violence. We can now easily forget the one that should never have been made. Positives: A Good cast Faithful/accurate to the first Negatives: Quite a few noticeable cliches

  Gory, atmospheric and stuffed with great action - everything a Predator movie should be! For while the second sucked more than vacuum and the AVP movies missed the mark, this is a sequel worthy of the name. Not quite as brilliant as the first film (it's just not the same without Schwarzenegger), but it definitely shares the same look and feel. With an exception for the CGI bits (which thankfully have been used scarcely), this could just as well have been made in the late 80's. Even the music is very similar to the original soundtrack; giving off an old-school vibe that took me on a pleasant nostalgia trip. It's just too bad the dialogue wasn't given as much thought. There's a lot of interesting characters, but you never get to know them on the depth, nor time enough to care for them. Had a little more work gone into the screenplay, I might have loved this film, instead of just really liking it. Even so, it's still better than I had hoped and two hours of solid entertainment. Kudos to Nimród Antal, for finally bringing us fans the follow-up we've been waiting for.

  Taking a nice beginning where you see a man falling from the sky, only to have his parachute automatically activate just as tree tops come into focus, this reboot of the Arnold vehicle doesn't really do anything revolutionary, merely focuses on what the originally film did right and stick with the formula. The tension is palpable as these eight random humans first find one another and then try to figure out where they are and why - all the while revealing little idiosyncrasies about each character. Sure, there are some things that fail to make much sense - as in the original film, but just as this film goes further with what came before, it also makes the gaping holes in logic all the more noticeable (first and foremost, how a society based on pure warriors managed to develop such high tech gadgets - including space travel that is far in advance of what we've been able to come up with). For the most part the film has a good pace, although there is a lull in the middle while the film doodles around with Lawrence Fishbourne in a goofy cameo - I felt exactly like I felt in the middle of Aliens - that the film almost needed a breather from all the tension shown up to that point. In all, an interesting story line especially with the addition of uber predators, while the credo of the warrior code runs up against the "no one left behind" mantra.

  Predators is an amazing sequel to a dying series, but not a amazing movie to those new to the series. A group of different people are put into a game reserve, on another planet. This planet is inhabited with aliens that a master hunters and must hunt down these people, and the people must think of how to kill them, and they are very strong. Adrien Brody plays the groups leader Royce, and Brody played him very well in my opinion, but just good, he will never do another film like The Pianist. Alice Braga plays Isabele, and I dont think Braga has been in much, but after this I think she'll be in a lot more films. The plot was okay, those who are new to the movie will think its weird, but after the horrible AVP movies, this takes me back to when the original Predators first came out. Overall the acting was good, plot was okay, effects were great, but a very boring movie at times.

  A decent reboot to the series. Most of the story events are predictable, but the characters, action scenes, and effects seem to overcome that and make this film enjoyable to watch.

  I'll be honest here and say that I enjoyed this for how brutal it was and its nostalgic value. As a standalone movie in the series, it's probably the least of the three. It's not complete crap or anything but it's nice to see the franchise get down and dirty once again after the AVP abortions sanitized the character. Speaking of which, I think Adrien Brody's character is the only one in the ensemble with any sort of depth or interest. The rest just sort of seem thinly drawn. I praise the filmmakers for doing something different while at the same time honoring the previous entries... at least, the original. All in all, I enjoyed it - much more than I thought that I would.

  Tired franchise returns to its roots to try and recapture the glory days but ends up a poor imitation. The acting is perfunctory and Brody is no Arnie. The story adds little to the mythology. I guess teenage boys would find it passable.

  For a solid 45 minutes, Predators is a fairly good genre movie. No, it's a very good genre movie. We snap awake in freefall with a ripped Adrien Brody. A group of deadly warriors from all cultures find themselves stranded in some strange jungle. For that 45-minutes of goodness, the assembled killers (and Topher Grace as a doctor?) try and piece together their circumstances while exploring the foreign terrain. It's a setup straight out of the Twilight Zone catalogue. And then, at minute 46, they find out they're on a game preserve planet for the notorious alien bounty hunters, the Predators. The characters get picked off one-by-one and the patient buildup unwinds in a familiar and depressing bloodbath. Predators will work as a quick fix of junk food, but it teased a promising alternative that never came to fruition. The action is bloody but listless. The plot twists are seen from miles away (Topher Grace as a doctor?) and after all that badass macho posturing, the end credits blast the song... "Long Tall Sally" by Little Richard? It's the most bizarre element in a movie with killer space monsters in dreadlocks. Nate's Grade: C+

  A fantastic sequel to the original Predator films (including the much critisized Predator 2, it wasn't that bad!). Some may think it predictable but name one Alien / Predator film that isn't. Alot of exciting action sequences with good special effects and thankfully the film doesn't get bogged down by showing too much of the alien world our 'heroes' find themself on. Top stuff.

  A cool addition to the series which surpasses the AVP films. This is more back to basics to what made the first film so enjoyable but with more Predators and more people to hunt. You only get to see a bit of the alien planet they are located on which was a surprise. However there are some cool fights and good action scenes, the SFX are pretty good. Predictable but will please those who liked the first so much. The second best film to feature the Predator creature to date!

I still think part 1 was better with "Arnie" and "Predator 2" with "Glover" was not too bad but this "Predators" was no disappointment either, "Adrien Brody?" ...well done!<br/><br/>I wouldn't of minded if it was a little longer, it felt short for me but otherwise a fairly average sci-fi. I wasn't really affected with suspense and I guess that's just the result of the predictable situations in this story. There was just no surprises for me but anyhow i liked it none-the-less.<br/><br/>The third Predator movie was in my opinion a satisfactory conclusion and there may be a fourth installment judging by the way it finished, or not.

  Predator 2 is a big guilty pleasure for me, but this is the film that it should have been. Rodriguez and Antal even said that they wanted this to be to Predator what Aliens was to Alien. With that goal though, comes some big responsibility. As good as this movie is (it's decent, but not great), it doesn't (for me) live up to being what they wanted it to be. It's quite a fun movie though, and I love the concept, but things fall just a tad short. The main reason why is the script- it seems a little undercooked. Also, characters seem a little too smart and in the know. Yeah, I know, it's just a B-movie, so why spend too many braincells scrutinizing things? Well, remember, they were aiming for greatness, so that's why. So yeah, the script and characters could have been a lot more better developed, but for what this film is, it's pretty bad ass. The characters are all diverse (on purpose) caricatures, but they're still pretty cool. I guessed the plot development with Topher Grace's character right from the get go, but he was still a joy to watch. He also provides the majority of the humor. Fishburne is also a joy to watch, really hamming it up in a fun and nutty role. I appreciate what Brody said about being in this film, which was that he treated his role like it was no different than his role in The Pianist or other prestige pictures like that. I respect that he didn't just do this for the money and that he brought some craft to it. Plus, he's pretty badass as a merc. The special effects and creature work look great, and I love that there is a "classic" Predator here- that made me smile. Also, like i said above, the concept is cool, and ope nfor tons of possibilities- I mean, what's not to like about an alien planet that the predators use as a game reserve? So yeah, it's not as good as the first, but it does it justice. This is not great, but it is fun and enjoyable. It could have had more tension and suspense, but overall, this is the best possible return to the series that one could have hoped for. Bring on some sequels!

  It was a hell of a lot better than the Predator vs. Alien movies, and better than Predator 2. The characters were interesting and fun, I was partial to the Russian guy and the convict. Danny Trejo died way too early though. Also, every Predator related movie since the first has had some pretty lame predators. They just arn't as cunning and badass as the original. And they really like trying to have a 'good guy' predator. Anyhow, entertaining for what it was.

Also, the ending could not have been any worse. Overall, I thought this was pretty good, but not nearly as good as I had hoped.
