Plot: "Pressure" follows two med students who must struggle to survive after an unusual shooting incident catapults them into a world of trouble...
An indie flick. Almost certainly made for TV. Actors are unknown to most. This is why I expected 'Pressure' to be crap.
As the wise saying goes, never judge a book (dvd) by it's cover. This is slyly comical, well put together film. Lochlyn Munro is one of the most underrated actors ever to grace the screen.
To fill you in on the plot, this is how it goes. Steve is a happy guy. He and his girlfriend are both medical students, who are looking forward to a happy future together. He's great friends with the lively Patrick, who's active personality overshadows that of his shy friend. The two stop at a bar while on a road trip, and Steve is seduced by the pretty Amber. Outside, her slightly psychotic boyfriend takes Steve into the woods, and uses him for target practice. Now, him being a tad funny, he gets the jollies from holding a freshly - fired gun against his male instrument. He accidentally pulls the trigger while practising this, and blows off his pecker. Steve is charged with attempted murder, and he and Patrick must solve the bizarre case and try to clear his name.
There is something inexplicably good about this movie. Although the camera work is shaky, and the director does no special job, you'll enjoy the entire 90 minutes immensely. Best quote: 'There is only one person stupid enough to blow off his own dick. Congratulations, Sir, that's your boy'.
Although I did not, it's actually worth it paying money to see this.
I basically wanted to see this because Kerr Smith's in it. It was pretty bad as you'd all expect, but it was also so bad in parts it was funny, and it was good, but I was buzzed the whole time.
Not that Kerr Smith is much better, but Locklyn Munro is definitely doomed to be a Z list actor.
