Looks like Gustave has a bit of competion with the recent hurricane Gustave. So this is the first ever killer crocodile flick to make to the big screen aye? Crickey mate they put this in theaters but they only put the far supior Rogue in a select number of special cinemas? Well not that this movie was bad, because it isn't. Me being the biggest crocodile lover eye have to admit this is the best crocodile flick eyev'e seen since Alligator,(which technically wasn't a crocodile) this film ventures far away from the standard horror formula of pretty boy and hottie girl so eye respect this movie more. The film delivers a good number of scares but most are the pop goes the weasle kind of moments were it's a cheap gotcha scare. Most people complain that the CG crocodile is fake looking but eye found it pretty good especially the moment when it is resting in a river bed concealed by those tall plantlike things that often grow around water. Do you want to know something really cheesey though? The crocodile in this movie actually runs after it's prey! Yes you did in fact read this right, the crocodile runs 28 Weeks Later style it's freakin crazy seeing a twentysomething foot long crocodile running after a person. The film doesn't just feature a man-eating crocdile though it actually tries to incorporate Hotel Rwanda like moments. Bottom line this movie is one of the best killer crocodile films out there definitley give it a try. If youv'e already seen the movie then take my movie quiz on it.

Despite it's lackluster dialogue and less than stellar effects, the movie isn't too bad at all. It doesn't get extremely bogged down in an attempt at something special, but takes itself seriously enough to be more than mediocre. If you like B-movies and creature films; it might warrant a viewing.

This was pretty crappy, even as a time waster. It looked like something that I'd see on the Sci Fi Channel during one of their horror movie crapfests they have.

One of those movies that can't decide if it would rather be horror or drama and so it fails at both.

While using a movie about an alligator to expose the horrors of genocide in Africa sounds like a good idea, it isn't. It also says something when a film about a giant killer lizard is boring, but, this movie had more than enough to reach that benchmark. Just watch Lake Placid 2 instead, at least that movie knew it sucked. Plus it had Bo Duke!! BO DUKE!

This was truly a treat to watch. Orlando Jones added the comedy to this intense suspense / thriller about American journalists coming to Africa to do an exclusive story on the disappearances of hundreds of Africans, from Burundian villages, allegedly at the jaws of a prehistoric crocodile named Gustav. The plot was perfect. Not only did the journalists have a 100 year old reptile to contend with but they also were placed amidst a 14 year old, genocidal civil war, under the cruel orchestration of a tyrant named ?Little Gustav? (whom is human not reptilian LOL). You couldn?t trust anyone in this movie other than yourself and when it came to ?croc encounters?, the healthiness of your running legs were where ALL trust was placed. The effects in this movie are top notch. The suspense is there, as well, and the cinematography is astonishing to the point where all of Africa?s beauty was captured, by the camera crew, under the direction of, movie director, Michael Katleman.

Great movie. I thought the whole movie would be about a crocodile. Instead it was about some other crap. The ending was really good. That crocodile was huge. It ate that guy. Really good.

Oh boy :/....the movie is supposed to be about Gustave...an actual 2,000 pound, 20 feet crocodile in the Republic of Burundi, a small country in the Great Lakes region of Africa...but the film made even less mention of the creature than anything! The film's promotional trailer dubs Gustave a "serial killer", who has claimed more than 300 victims and "remains at large". It is compared to Jack the Ripper and the Zodiac Killer with his non-human status never mentioned except for a brief line where the narrator says, "He's real, but he's not human." A shortened version of this trailer does not even contain this at all! However, in the trailer, a crocodile, presumably Gustave, briefly flashes on screen. The promotional poster similarly calls Gustave "the most prolific serial killer in history". The film's official website rarely makes any mention that the killer is in fact a crocodile! It should be noted that although the story is about a real crocodile, the claim that it has killed over 300 people is a rumor as opposed to the total number of reported deaths, which is around 110...the movie was an all around flop!

Not what I thought...but pleasantly surprised with the overall movie...One of the better critter movies....The sub plot of the strife in Africa really added to the movie...Gore was there...story was there...Good flick!!!

Didn't realize it was a croc film until I got to the movie theater. Still entertaining though, and I can't tell you how happy it made me that the dog survived.

The most brutal croc ever known in, perhaps, the most brutal croc film ever! This is a great creature feature, inspired by the true, and ongoing, story of Gustave, the largest crocodile in Africa, who's said to have claimed at least 300 lives. While Gustave himself moved a bit too fast on land for my liking in this film, he's nonetheless the best CGI croc I've ever seen. For a creature film, it's awesome, brutal, and sets a standard for others. Whether it's your cup of tea or not, Primeval (named Primeval Kill in the UK) is worth a look, and definitely better than Tobe Hooper's shite film Crocodile.

La película quiere contarnos muchas cosas, pero no consolida una historia central, por lo que todo parece superficial.

Sin embargo creo que tiene un no sé que refrescante que la hace entretenida. 5/10

Excited when I saw the trailer. Disappointed when I heard it was a crocodile. Pleasantly surprised when I saw the movie. Better than I thought it would be.

Crocodile Carnaaaaaaaage! I liked it. It's based on true events from Burundi about a man-eating croc (over 300 to date) nicknamed Gustave, who many people have attempted to catch to no avail. The movie is a bit over the top....but it's a hollywood production. I thought it was pretty good especially for a giant (only exaggerating about 5 feet) croc. The characters you are suppossed to like are likeable and vice versa.

A cool monster flick that is based on a true story and actual events. Cool CG and SPX. Dominic Purcel is cool as always and Orlando Jones is cut up.-The French was annoying though.

When this was advertised, I expected it to be about the most notorious human serial killer not a crocodile. It was worth the watch though. Add a great anti-war message.

I was surprised by this movie. Its a little slow at first but there are some very amazing landscape shots to keep you interested till the blood is shed. The crocodile effects are good and the story being based off a real life crocodile that has eaten its fare share of humans gives this movie a little more freaky edge. there are some very cool shots in this flick and the lighting is great and it really creates the mood. Acting is good and Orlando Jones is very funny at times. The only problem with this film is that they focus on bad guys to long you start to miss the crocodile but other then that a all around entertaining flick. (nn)

what starts out as an average monster movie, actually turns out be a decent, tense thriller.although some of the giant croc special effects are a bit naff.some funny lines from orlando jones,my favourite being"slavery was a good thing.anything you can do to get the fuck out of africa is okay with me".All in all a very watchable beer movie.

This movie is stupid, but I enjoyed the big old monster nonetheless. It's not supposed to be Shakespeare.

This movie could have been better. it looks like just another anaconda movie but abit slower. Just an 'OK' movie... ok to skip it. The trailer does make you think its a great movie but the thrill u get is not as good as the trailer. all i can say is i expected more though but i would have to say anaconda 2 was way better.

I like cheesy movies.. But please... I would rather just watch Lake Placid and see a good movie about a giant croc.. Actually I could just watch paint dry for about 2 hours and come out of my coma with the same hazy bored impression that this movie left me with.

I don't usually say anything about comments...but I'll make an exception in this case

I would strongly suggest that you actually watch the movie before you open your mouth about it on a public forum...the movie is about a FREAKIN' CROCODILE, I don't think he cares about the publicity!
