Well, first of all, "Proof of Life" is somewhat of a insignificant movie. Of course the subject of the film is important but there are too many negative aspects.

Oh dear, what you've read about this movie is all true. I don't think the poor director, Taylor Hackford could have done any better if the two leads were different though. It's all a bit cliched how the 'kidnapees'' wife falls for the man who is meant to save him.

After Gladiator this is the second film of Crowe that I saw and it was real a disaster for him. Nothing to do with his periformans in previous Film.
