But the boat actually belonged to the Witch.. who turned the boat back into a black evil craft meant to trap Jimmy and bring him to her. But Jimmy escapes from the boat and make a swim for land. A Dragon named Pufnstuf was watching the whole event between Jimmy and the witch and he and the cops (two ants named Cling & clang) go to aid Jimmy. Jimmy ends up on the shores of Living island (every thing is alive) & is rescued by Pufnstuf & Co. Not great cinema but who cares?! This is, for me, pure, unadulterated nostalgic bliss! (Did you know that it's almost physically impossible to say "Witchiepoo" and be unhappy?)

I never truly understood the meaning of the phrase, "So good, it's bad". Oh God, do I know now. This... jeez, where do I even begin...? I've never seen such a tripped-out children's film. Hippie trees, wacky Technicolour sets, and a dash of "angel dust". Get the idea? Plus ...( read more)H. R. Pufnstuf himself can't seem to keep his eyes from going googly. Veeeeery creepy, I assure you. But Jack Wild is positively wonderful, and the witches' convention is a very cool touch. If someone you love hasn't been exposed to this film... you're doing them a disservice. Just try not to watch this on drugs. I think you might lose your freaking mind.

One of my favorite movies from childhood. I can sing along with all the songs, much to my wife's s chagrin.

I love this fun spin-off from the 1969 Saturday morning TV series "H.R. Pufnstuf." The psychedelic imagery from Sid and Marty Krofft is very unique, the songs are catchy and the original stars of the program (Jack Wild and Billie Hayes) carry the film with guest appearances by M...( read more)artha Raye and Cass Elliot. I find it bizarrely hypnotic and love every moment of it.

It's been a while, but, I was RE-introduced to the show, back in 1981, through a lady WSB agent in Port Charles and then fairly recently, through the former mayor of a town called Odyssey. If I TOLD you, you wouldn't believe me! Let's just say, if you happen to find a guy by the name of Luke Spencer on the Island, he's working WITH, not against Living Island's somewhat favorite inhabitant, to beat much more dangerous villain.

    Who'd have thought it?

Terrific! Who'd have thought a soap (GH) would land me back here? Now, I honestly wish I could go back. And if 'Jimmy' and Jack knew then, what the rest of us know now, he wouldn't have left!
