Quantum physicist Sam Beckett discovered a method of time travel, only to get caught up in forces beyond his control. Now he's propelled through the decades and into the bodies and lives of other humans. During each temporal shift, Sam must solve the problems of his new "host" in order to leap again. Always by his side is the trusty Al, a holographic image from his own era who acts as a guardian angel. Here, Sam assumes the identity of Jack Stone, a homicide detective in the midst of solving a grisly crime. But something's gone terribly wrong during this leap -- Sam's plagued by horrifying, weird nightmares. It's up to Al to help him figure out what's going on... for if he doesn't, Sam will remain trapped in this body and time forever.
