I am so sorry she died and could not finish the movie but this movie is good I love most vampire movies.

''There comes a time for every vampire when the idea of eternity becomes momentarily unbearable. Living in the shadows, feeding in the darkness with only your own company to keep, rots into a solitary, hollow existence. Immortality seems like a good idea, until you realize you...( read more)'re going to spend it alone. So I went to sleep, hoping that the sounds of the passing eras would fade out, and a sort of death might happen. But as I lay there, the world didn't sound like the place I had left, but something different.''

    Aaliyah: Queen Akasha

    Stuart Townsend: Lestat de Lioncourt

The vampire Lestat becomes a rock star whose music invokes the queen of all vampires from slumber.

Being a fan of Vampire movies and knowing full well this is a sequel to Interview with a Vampire i must admit this felt 2nd class. The whole film was fun but no where near as magical.

Focuses more on Lestat than Akasha. Stuart Townsend has had the worst parts I've seen in films, this being the best one i have seen him in so far. Thankfully this film was better than the dire League of Extraordinary Gentlemen...

The acting was quite poor in places sadly.
Music wise it was cool with the whole rock -star angle and feels like a mix between
Underworld, The crow and The Covenant.

Aaliyah, with her Queen character, on the other hand has a magical quality to her but i was annoyed that she wasn't given more to do in the film. I loved her role in Romeo must Die and its a shame she passed away so young.

Would have preferred a more negative ending and not such an unoriginal bland one. I mean all the vampire's at the end looked like they were 2D cut out dolls.

On the whole though it does have some good ideas but sometimes sadly it felt like an episode of Supernatural or Buffy rather than a movie.

Great movie about a vampire named Lestat (Stuart Townsend) who awakens in modern times and becomes a rockstar of all things. He is then accepted by millions of fans but not by other vampires as he begins admitting through his lyrics that he is indeed a vampire and that others sho...( read more)uld come out of hiding and expose themselves as well. Needless to say this does not sit well with the others as all vampires are to keep themselves out of the public eye and live only as mythical creatures to the public. All this feuding and fighting stirs up the re-awakening of the Queen mother of all vampires Akasha (played by the late Aaliyah) who decides she wants Lestat to be her king and eventually kill as many people as they can, except Lestat isn't too crazy about the idea, but how do you turn down your Queen and live to tell about it?
One of my favorite vampire films of all time. It's dark, gothic, sexy and with a killer soundtrack from bands like, Disturbed, Static X and Jonathan Davis of Korn.

Worst Movie ever made not a thing like the book. If you like this movie it proves that you have NEVER read the book. In the movie its states that Marius made LESTAT but he did not Magnus did and afterward threw himself in the fire.

~Never Yours - Lestat & Jesse Hate Site:
    http://hiddenkiss.net/lestatjessehate.php

I hate the relationship because of how it is done and how it affects too significant things.

    I go in detail with:
    1. NO CHEMISTRY & STORYLINE
    2. SHE'S NOT HIS TYPE
    3. BOOK? WHAT BOOK?

The fans of this relationship are blind to the way how in the least poorly the pair's storyline works and how much the relationship lacks any chemistry. We haters wish to open some eyes with voice of reason.

"This song really fits them!", "This song screams Lestat & Jesse!" NO, it does NOT.

One of the most overated movies that I think I have ever seen! I know that Aaliyah died while making this film & since filming was not complete they basically had to work around Aaliyah not being there & that's probably why this movie is so terrible!! I'm not saying that they should have refilmed the movie with another actress, keeping her in the film was probably the best thing, but the editing was VERY poor!!! The name of the movie certainly does suggest that the movie is about her, but she was barely in 30 minutes of the film.

This movie would likely have been much better if they had kept Tom Cruise as the main character for this movie too. I can't believe I wasted $8.50.

Re-written critic again 'cause I can't decide how much i want to say here.

This film works and is good as a vampire film in general and I love it as such but this is a total disgrace to the Vampire Chronicles and the characters this film includes. It's obvious they never wanted to adapt the books and that they didn't even respect the books or the characters.

Even so I think the casting is great. Everyone does a great job - I especially adore Stuart Townsend as Lestat and dream that he could play a true version of Lestat - he'd be perfect. He highlights whatever little there is left of the true lestat in this film version. Same goes to Vincent Perez as Marius. Actually they are the only reason this film is worth watching over and over again, for me. That even though the Lestat & Marius relationship is f*cked up in this film, this is only one that has it in any way and Stuart and Vincent bring the father and son alive so well. You can see it underneath all the out of character bs they couldn't effect as they were just actors given a script to study.

The atmosphere is nice though not true to the books, it couldn't be since they slaughtered everything. The music is hooking and awesome.

I blame most of the bullshit this movie has, on the Lestat & Jesse pairing they wasted half of the movie with and it isn't even in the books at all and that pairing dismisses EVERY SINGLE ONE of the important relationships of Lestat's that DO exsist in the book. I f*cking HATE this film's ending even if I do like this film in general.

I first saw this before I had read anything of the books and I think that is why I love this as much as I do but have now after reading the books, a strong love-hate thing for this. This film is worth watching as a vampire fan but a nightmare for The Vampire Chronicles books' fans - BUT even to us this can be bearable if we just think before we totally trash this! SOME changes were fine, you know.

More on everything I think - on my Lestat & Marius Fan Site. Link in my channel's About Me section.
