I hate the relationship because of how it is done and how it affects too significant things.

I go in detail with:
1. NO CHEMISTRY & STORYLINE
2. SHE'S NOT HIS TYPE
3. BOOK? WHAT BOOK?

The fans of this relationship are blind to the way how in the least poorly the pair's storyline works and how much the relationship lacks any chemistry. We haters wish to open some eyes with voice of reason.

"This song really fits them!", "This song screams Lestat & Jesse!" NO, it does NOT.

One of the most overated movies that I think I have ever seen! I know that Aaliyah died while making this film & since filming was not complete they basically had to work around Aaliyah not being there & that's probably why this movie is so terrible!! I'm not saying that they should have refilmed the movie with another actress, keeping her in the film was probably the best thing, but the editing was VERY poor!!! The name of the movie certainly does suggest that the movie is about her, but she was barely in 30 minutes of the film.

This movie would likely have been much better if they had kept Tom Cruise as the main character for this movie too. I can't believe I wasted $8.50.

Re-written critic again 'cause I can't decide how much i want to say here.

This film works and is good as a vampire film in general and I love it as such but this is a total disgrace to the Vampire Chronicles and the characters this film includes. It's obvious they never wanted to adapt the books and that they didn't even respect the books or the characters.

Even so I think the casting is great. Everyone does a great job - I especially adore Stuart Townsend as Lestat and dream that he could play a true version of Lestat - he'd be perfect. He highlights whatever little there is left of the true lestat in this film version. Same goes to Vincent Perez as Marius. Actually they are the only reason this film is worth watching over and over again, for me. That even though the Lestat & Marius relationship is f*cked up in this film, this is only one that has it in any way and Stuart and Vincent bring the father and son alive so well. You can see it underneath all the out of character bs they couldn't effect as they were just actors given a script to study.

The atmosphere is nice though not true to the books, it couldn't be since they slaughtered everything. The music is hooking and awesome.

I blame most of the bullshit this movie has, on the Lestat & Jesse pairing they wasted half of the movie with and it isn't even in the books at all and that pairing dismisses EVERY SINGLE ONE of the important relationships of Lestat's that DO exsist in the book. I f*cking HATE this film's ending even if I do like this film in general.

I first saw this before I had read anything of the books and I think that is why I love this as much as I do but have now after reading the books, a strong love-hate thing for this. This film is worth watching as a vampire fan but a nightmare for The Vampire Chronicles books' fans - BUT even to us this can be bearable if we just think before we totally trash this! SOME changes were fine, you know.

I love the movie, but it doesn't do the book justice. Sadly, the screenplay left out both the Story of the Twins and the way Akasha really meets her end. They also left out some of the 'Children of The Millenia' like Pandora. Sad sad. Great movie none-the-less. >>

The movie was good, but the book was much better. Like all books, it brought you into the thoughts of the characters and you found yourself fully understanding how the characters worked. I would advice people these days to read the books before the movies, you gain more respect for the characters, the author, and the director.
