MY APPRAISAL
"Brutally romantic!"
After the powrful yet provocative AAC, this is by far, THE BEST INDONESIAN MUST-WATCH MOVIE. Even with the low budgets, Radit & Jani deserves 5 stars of the local measurement and 3.5 stars in Hollywood measurement. Unlike other typical despressing romantic drama about the chasing after love or defending love from another threat, Radit & Jani is more about preserving love and the pursuit of happiness. The soundtrack is also perfect. (try: Tentang Kita-Peterpan).
Director Upi Avianto brings the exact portrayal of love and intimacy between the two leads stylishly and brutally. Not a single lack in character development we encountered. Within the 110 minutes, this film was dominated by images of the two leading roles. Fahrani and Vino G. Bastian are superbly compatible for their role as two newly weds, rebellious and intoxicated by love. Financial problems force them to do things they didn't suppose to. They steal just like Bonnie and Clyde did, but never will be enough. They struggled for living, sacrifice everything for the love one. They tossed aside their pride to reach their dreams together. The film was ironic yet distressing, but very powerful indeed.
DOES LOVE REALLY CONQUER IT ALL?Hmm..you're about to find out.
The exact representation of FAITHFULNESS, SINCERITY, and TRUST.
"Believe it Jani, someday I'll bring you hapiness you never had..."
