The series was better, but not bad.

Both this and the series are pretty mediocre. There are stronger iterations in the mecha genre.

High concept, surreal and clearly wonderfully deep and metaphorical, with beautiful symbology, shots and animation. Unfortunately, this film fails due to its incredibly rich use of mythologies, cultures, religions and interchangeable settings, for which there is insufficient tim...( read more)e to explain within the length of the movie - and no attempt is made to do so. It attempts to tackle too much, and takes multiple viewings to begin to decipher. Given the scope, texture and depth of the story and world it creates, it is no doubt better explained (and suited) in its TV series incarnation.

The series was great. This was not quite as good. It is a NGE clone, but NGE is great, so what's wrong with cloning it.

This is a good movie that you have to see the show all the way through to get. But it still delivers it's great plot characters ans story. The visuals are fantastic as well as the music. This is an anime of one of my top favorites which is saying something.

Anime series is SO much better, but I couldnt ignore the movie.

a pretty good anime movie, for a pretty bad series. RahXephon has a huge following but I don't think it's very good. The movie is really well animated and even the english cast isn't bad.

    Another great Giant Robot title
  • June 16, 2007
People say its the clone of NGE .. but critics have its own word, the clone surpassed its original ... Rahxephon brought the same concept as was used on NGE, along with greater, more original story, clearer ending, less disturbing characters, and the church won't have to argue ab...( read more)out it ..
