god, i hate hilary duff i only watched it cuz i was at a birthday party or somthin... it was borin as fudge with a crap-tastic plot... i wish they'd shut up. except adam gonteir from three days grace... what role did he play, again???
I dont think of Hilary Duff as a great actress but she plays her role well... The story is so much different from other story and its more tender, I admitted I'd cried when the brothers die, its so sad but yet its a good music movie.
But the best part of this movie is AMOF Are You Read?'s Three Days Grace's performance they rock the hell up of it!!
IM a big fan of hilary duff and this movie was not a let down on her part i could feel the emotions i cried at the end of the movie espcially the part where his brother that he loved died and she blames her self with the "what ifs" but somehow she found happiness in something she's passionate about even thought it took time and someone to have confident in her..
so next time you go to your local blockbuster make sure to check out raise your voice you won't be dissapointed.
I don?t know what I expected when I started watching this film, everything about it screams shit but I took the advice of a friend and watched it anyway. It?ll be the last time I listen to that friend about movies. I suppose the first clue would have to be Hilary Duff. Just because she can sing relatively decently does not mean that she should be thrown into every film that involves a character singing. I believe they couldn?t have changed her voice anymore even if it was possible. I don?t think she sung one note properly for the duration of the film. Her character is annoying and you don?t feel sorry for her even if her brother did die. I can?t stand whiney characters and hers just takes the biscuit. The rest of the actors in the film give poor performances so when Duff fails to carry the film, falling back on the rest of the cast doesn?t work because they?re all rubbish as well. The plot isn?t a terrible one and if they characterisation was done to a higher standard, and choice of actors was different, then maybe the film would have had a chance. I heard that Evan Rachel Wood was originally going to play the lead, which was a much better choice, but what you going to do. If it was her, there would be something else wrong with the film.
This movie inspired me, that if i had a dream i won't let it down, no matter what happened in my life before, i can push through that i make a change. luved it xoxo
sugary goodness... the overcome-it-all-by-letting-go-of-the-pain formula with a touch of teen romance and a dash of away-from-home setting still works for this tween type movie... got me through a overnight hospital stay
Agh, this movie kind of bothered me. She lies to her dad the whole movie and gets rewarded in the end, and yet they do a great job of making you sympathize with HER, and feel all inspired and stuff anyway... I guess it was just "okay".
This was a really sad movie. I cried so much during it. I hate how he died! It was kind of pointless. Maybe it was just to make people cry. It was a good story but just to sad to bare. I didn't like it that much.
Its a really good film its sad but you will really like. Its a singing film so if you like film with singing in this is the film you would want to see.
I was caught of guard on what a great movie this is. I think it's the best work of Hilary's so far. I absolutely admire the music in there. Dana Davis is sooo cool at the violin. Everyone is amazingly talented and I really admire that.
The casting is great and the storyline is not bad. Bit cheesy at times, but overall enjoyable.
This is a movie I saw when I was in my Hilary Duff fase so I remember it as awesome and amazing so I watched it again and I didn't see the pop diva Hilary I saw a great actress and a great movie. Hilary Duff this was a great movie!
Okay, goddamn it, I watched it! But fuck, it was 2005, fucking hell.
Anyway. This is not a film as much as a business deal for Ms. Duff-- and it serves the same damn morals we're used to get in every 'inspirational' teen movie. But there is a little something that sets it apart-- clearly NOT Hilary's frustrating white-bread acting style-- a somewhat fresh cast and a reasonably realistic take on artistic authenticity. This film IS about music, and to the tween generation, it's a solid value to be taught.
So, in terms of filmmaking, it's pure fucking soap-- but I guess it serves some sort of purpose. Good.
ahhh, hilary duff. i haven't seen this movie for a long time. but i guess it was okay 'cause i don't remember what happens even though i've seen it. [:
