    Ransom is one of those films that reminds me why I love 90's movies! They're great popcorn action thrillers.

    Rich (and cliched) in plot, Ransom is pulse-pounding and twisting all the way to it's dramatic (yet ironic) conclusion. I also think Gary Sinise makes a great diabolical antagonist. Don't miss it....

    seen this so many times growing up, whenever i think of it i always picture the kid peeing himself, i know i know its not a comedy. Anyway gibsons so in kidnapped and held for ransom, standard action/drama film, nothing really new

    Mel Gibson (Braveheart, Maverick) stars as the rich father of a kidnapped boy, played by Brawley Nolte (Nick Nolte's son). The kidnappers give a ransom of 2 million dollars. Rene Russo (Outbreak, Major League) plays his wife. Delroy Lindo (Clockers, Get Shorty) plays the head FBI...( read more) agent on the case. Gary Sinise plays a New York cop. Gibson soon starts to doubt the chances of the ransom working, so he changes the ransom to a bounty on the kidnapper's head. The film is well-directed by Ron Howard (Apollo 13, Cocoon). The story line is gripping and well-written. There is a well thought story plot and it actually carries thru the movie unlike some movies where the start is good and trails off..... Plus unexpected twists and change of emotions and really good acting that the audience would want to follow to find out what's gonna to happen.

    As good as action movies get. This isn't your typical action movie where the main character just kills as many bad guys as he can (though I do enjoy watching those movies). It was very well-written and put together.
    The cast was amazing. Mel Gibson never fails when it comes to action movies. I had NO idea Lili Taylor was in this so it was awesome to see her.

    There should be more movies like this! SEE IT!

    "Ron Howard" Failed with "Ransom", a thriller in which he most imprudently , and shamelessly recasted "Gary Sinise" from "Apollo 13", yet he doesn't fit well in this film's Grand Scheme!

    Possibly Ron Howards best film. Extremely well paced and thrilling. Gary Sinise is excellent.

    I didn´t knew that movie until I saw it on TV; with great actors, Mel Gibson, Gary Sinise... A movie to see, very powerfull, dramatic, who shows untill where a father is forced to go to have is soon back; very well excecuted.
