Critic Reviews

  • Carrie Rickey, Philadelphia Inquirer

    Refreshingly subversive.

  • John Monaghan, Detroit Free Press

About as exciting as a lunchbox full of carrot sticks.

  • Mike Clark, USA Today

Passably speedy on the level of other TV retreads that seem miscast on the big screen.

  • Wesley Morris, San Francisco Chronicle

  • Gene Seymour, Newsday

While it is formulaic when stacked up to its television show counterpart, School's Out provides an ambitious plot line noted with a strong antagonist performance by James Woods

How can you not love Recess? Especially with it off the air now, this movie was great to relive one of the greatest and well done cartoons ever made. Hopefully they keep making these movies or at least bring back the show.
