A covert mission across the English Channel at the height of World War II lands two American pilots behind enemy lines. The year is 1943; Germany's stronghold on Italy is preventing Allied forces from gaining an advantage on the Eastern front. In order to lure German forces away from the front and clear a path for the Red Army, British Intelligence acquires three experimental Russian "yaks." The plan is for American pilots from the 7th Army Air Corps to pilot the planes across the English Channel, where they will perform reconnaissance and strafe German troops. Convinced that the British and American forces are preparing to storm the beaches of Calais, Rommell contacts Hitler to request reinforcements on the Russian front. The British plan goes awry, however, when hostile fire forces pilot Tom Meyers and his spotter Bob Sanders down in enemy territory. Should Allied forces fail to rescue them quickly, the Axis could gain the upper hand, and potentially win the war. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
