MCT:April 3, 2008This was an odd duck. Left me feeling full of ANGST! I wanted to hate Alex for her betrayal but at the same time, I was feeling... I don't know, sympathetic? to her plight. I found myself condoning her suicide as her only means of escaping a horrible situation. Something I could never see myself doing before.
The ending was kind of a surprise for me. I think I was looking for closure whereas the producers were looking for a means to open a series.
This movie was pretty dark. If you're a fan of dark movies, (Donnie Darko comes to mind first) you'll probably love it. I didn't love it! But I didn't hate it either. Neither do I think I'll be viewing anything else related to this movie. I'm at war with clinical depression already and this theme isn't likely to lift my spirits. I don't NEED any help with bringing me down ~ -

Not your average David Duchovny movie. While there is definitely dialogue, I found the character development to be lacking. David does a very good job of throwing a fit on film, and there was definitely an eyeful for both men and women, but on a whole it's not one of my favourite films.

This earns three stars for Billy Wirth, Billy Wirth naked, and a smidge of David Duchovny. Otherwise a total downer of a movie.
