I quite liked this film, it?s got a good balance of intriguing story, campy characters and impressive action sequences. Oh, and it?s got dragons in it too!

Total Guilty Pleasure. Dumb as hell, but seriously Batman and a Naked Bongo playing Stoner vs. a Dragon. Genius

Dazzling special effects highlight this so-so fantasy adventure about dragons wrecking havoc on England in the year 2020. Movies like this are usually best when they have a sense of irony. Unfortunately this action film lacks a sense of humor and fails to engage.

I was pretty disapointed in Bale during this film. I was jus happy he wasnt the lead actor.

It was an interesting concept that was lost to some bad acting and special effects. The dragons looked fake and Matthew Mcconaughey put in an overdone performance that was hard to watch. Christian Bale couldn't even save this from being horrible, which must've been hard.

Critic Reviews
The filmmakers might have benefited from more sleep before penning the script. full review
The advantage of a postapocalyptic setting is that it can be made on the cheap. Any rock pile will do for a set. Reign of Fire has the disadvantage of also looking cheap. full review
One regards Reign of Fire with awe. What a vast enterprise has been marshaled in the service of such a minute idea. full review
Reign of Fire never comes close to recovering from its demented premise, but it does sustain an enjoyable level of ridiculousness. full review
Directed by Rob Bowman in a palette of dark, muddy colors, Reign of Fire is often incomprehensible and hardly ever entertaining -- even unintentionally. full review
