I actually am a fan of Ryuhei Matsuda, thats why I watched this movie but this is the only movie I've seen of him that I would put on my favorite list.
It is a very typical love story of friendship, jealousy, sacrifice and loss. What made it so special for me is just the simple a...( read more)cting of both main actors. Nothing overdone, I even like the horrible English being spoken by Ryuhei just to imply that he would go to the length of leaving his comfort zone just to find his love. And the ending, how heartbreaking is that?

I must admit to having watched this due to ryuhei matsuda's presence in the cast list...but I am glad I acted on foolish fangirl impulse because this was a sweet little film.

The beginning chonicles a young couple's relationship from the time they meet to the time they part, and...( read more) the second half is where the tragedy kicks in as matsuda's character, segawa, travels to new york to find his love once again.
It is also the weaker half of the film, but if you try to ignore those cheesy bits of english dialogue and the terrible "cameo" from the american actor...it is actually a touching ending.

I recommend it, but don't expect anything ground breaking, just a simple, satisfying love story from japan.
