It's a really fun and silly, and outlandishly hilarious, (but ultimately pointless) movie, but it's a good way to pass 84 minutes of time. Non-diehard fans of the show probably should become bigger fans of the show before seeing this, or just avoid altogether.

MCT:June 27, 2008I was never a big fan of the show, funny moments, but more hit than miss. This however was incredible and absurd from the word go. The cast are comfortable with their characters and chemistry together and it shows. Special guest cameo's from The Rock, Patton Oswalt, Paul Rudd(doing the best/worst Scarface ever), Micheal Showalter and Micheal Ian Black(of Wet Hot American Summer and Stella), and Danny Devito, only add more comedic speaks to the already crack team.
The Reno Sherrif's department are invited to a Police Convention in Miami, but due to confusion are not allowed to enter. Then a biological attack forces the quarentine of all the cities police into the convention center, it is The Reno crew who stand between law and chaos.
I had pretty low expecations here, but everything worked. The mockumentary aspect of the show is preserved here to good effect as welll, and it gives some of the comic timing a cross between Christopher Guest and Borat.
It's not a film about anything, it's a spoof like "Airplane", "Wet Hot American Summer", or "Walk Hard", whose greatest concern is how many laughs it can turn out, as the plot stretches further and further. Hilarous. -

This is without a doubt one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time. It's crass, stupid, silly and sometimes outright offensive...and it all works!
Not just for the fans of the series, this is the series taken to even more extreme levels. Barely has a plot, but who cares! If you're in the mood to laugh and aren't easily offended, give this a try! -

This movie was okay. I think I would like it better if I was a fan of the show. The part that was the funniest was the whale thing. I had no clue that Paul Rudd was in it.

The plot was as weak as expected, but c'mon, that's not why we go see these movies. The characters were all just as funny as the television show.
It's full of hilarious cameos and appearances that will leave you thinking "Is that the one guy from that one thing? Nice!" Get past the stupidity of the plot, and enjoy the humor of the situations and people. -

Very much an over the top comedy, with some genuinely funny moments. The gross-out humour is really aimed at a specific audience and as such many have disliked this one immensely. I personally had a great time with the 'COPS' meets 'Police Academy' style and the multiple cameos (the Rock and Paul Rudd particularly) were a blast! Wendi McLendon-Covey certainly held my attention as Deputy Clementine Johnson and while it crosses a few boundaries it probably shouldn't, I still had fun!!

Very funny Flick. Classic Reno 911 Comedy set-up. Decent acting, good camera work. Great one-liners and set ups. Some parts were over the top therefore the rated R rating, but over all a good flick.

Way funnier than expected. I don't really follow the show, but the episodes I've seen i've laughed pretty hard.
Well, this was exactly what you would expect of an episode except without any restraints.
Its a pretty crazy movie with some scenes that will drop your jaw. But you are always laughing. I loved it. -

well i saw it, it was ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so so, i wish there would have been more to the movie though. i still like it but i wish i would have waited to go see it or even just saved my money and waited for it to come on cable tv. i still love the series on tv alot and i will continue watching it on the comedy central channel.

this is one of the stupid dang movies i have ever seen in in the history of my life!!!! but i will give them some credit cause i will admit is was hilarious, but not worth seeing again or renting on dvd.
