Clint Eastwood's first movie, that's about the only good thing about this movie.
The plot borrows heavily from King Kong and there are some unintentional laughs (as well as an intentional one involving a young uncredited Clint Eastwood), but the star of the show "Gill Man" makes this a classic monster movie.
Not quite as good as the first one, but just as entertaining and watchable. The underwater cinemtaography is still pretty good, the extremely brief (and uncredited) film debut of Clint Eastwood is amusing, and the scene where the Gill Man flips the car over is awesome. Again, a s...( read more)
One of my all time favorite villains is back: The Creature From The Black Lagoon! This time the Creature is let loose! There isn't enough horror moments for me, but it's still incredibly entertaining and an overall fun movie.

I would rather watch every episode of Oprah while smelling Oprah's sweaty armpit. I would rather vote for Obama or scrape the burnt off of toast. To put it simple, no, this movie will not be watched by me.
As with the original, Creature From the Black Lagoon, the gill man is the victim. He is the one we feel sorry for. He is kidnapped, tortured and shackled. His home is trashed, polluted and blown to bits. He is not the aggresor. Man is.
