Saw this trapped on an airplane over the Pacific Ocean. Jumping out of the plane was considered. How Dolly got talked into this I will never know. The idea that she could turn Sly into a singer is preposterous, and the movie proves it. Total waste of time. money and talent (Dolly...( read more), not Sly.) It gets one star because Dolly is worth watching, even in trash like this.

Singularly unwatchable 80s "comedy" that's country & western cross between Fame and My Fair Lady. With Sylvester Stallone. Draw your own conclusions...

This is one of the worst movies you will ever see in your life. Not even Dolly Parton's chest could save it.

Dolly does a wonderful job and Sly's preformance was up and down. but the movie grew on me.

Wow, just when you think that Stallone gets a chance to act, he blows it by overdoing and bringing way too much energy. As someone who likes all music including country, some of the songs were decent. there were even some decent one liners that were actually funny. Parton and Sta...( read more)llone even have a decent chemistry together. But this movie was a bad fish out of water that was totally predictable and badly acted.

Welllllllll....hmmmmm. There aren't enough words to describe RHINESTONE. Uhhhhh lets see....Rhinestone at best is a watchable flick in a trainwreck sort of way. Its "good" in a "bad" way. Stallone is horrible but he's still Stallone so still worth watching. Dolly is actually...( read more) better and i can't believe i just said that. Many many emotions were going through me as i watched this movie. I didn't hate it but i couldn't believe that i bought it. There are many painful moments to be had...giving it 2 stars seems way too generous but 1 1/2 stars seems like i was bored, thought it was utter shit, etc. I don't know....i could watch Rhinestone again but i would want a six pack of LONE STAR beer and maybe a couple joints. Maybe thats how it is supposed to be viewed. RHINESTONE is "different"...it has to be seen to be believed. BAD but not without a certain redneck hillybilly charm. Thats my analysis of RHINESTONE.....
