Johnny (Sikander Agarwal) lives in a poor section of Mumbai and dreams of someday living in Dubai, but first he needs to make some money. Johnny sells coffee from a portable stand to the street traffic, but the business is mainly a front for dealing cocaine; he was forced into the business by a threatening local mobster (Vijay Maurya) who is involved with Johnny's guardian Begum (Saurabh Shukla). Johnny frequently sells drugs to Parvez (Neil Nitin Mukesh), who is having an affair with Divya (Shahana Goswami), the bored wife of corrupt police officer Chilpe (Kay Kay Menon). Through Divya, Parvez learns that Chilpe and his partners have raised a large sum of cash through payoffs and shakedowns, and he offers to bring Johnny in on a scheme to steal the ill-gotten loot. Johnny would be able to move to Dubai and Parvez could run off with Divya, but are the benefits worth the grave danger? Meanwhile, Johnny is in love with Preeti (Soha Ali Khan), a beautiful woman and small time television personality who often stops at his cart for coffee; unfortunately, Preeti already has a boyfriend, a louse who Johnny knows as one of his regular drug customers. Tera Kya Hoga Johnny (aka Ride The Wave Johnny) was an official selection at the 2009 BFI London Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
