The director obviously took a lot of liberties with the original King story. As a film on its own, I thought it was wandering, cheesy, and just generally mediocre, if not flat out bad.
I wish I could watch every movie ever made but I sadly don't have the time. I'm not interested in this movie because I don't think I'll like it or don't know enough about it to think I might like it. I may still end up seeing it some day though.
its a good movie but at times found it hard to tell what the hell was goin on, but sure A- it's a stephen king novel (the man is a genius but his stories can be a bit too wierd sometimes!) and B- jonathan jackson is in it (he needs to loose the "ronnie" in it tho!) and so even if the movie didn't make sense at times, i had his ass to gawp at! lol!
nothing kinda happens until near the end. i didn't get the ending either... how everything worked out okay?!!? best two things about it are david arquettes performance as george staub and the last 30 minutes (including a few minutes of running around the deserted circus) but it definitely is NOT one of the better steven king book to film conversions
I loved this movie when I saw it some when I was young. I saw it again when I got older and it wasn't as good to me but still a great movie. You either like Stephen King or you don't. I happen to like his stuff.
this is a good movie kinda twisted but its a good movie check it out if you like the Stephen King Movies has an awesome car in it too so check it out !!!!
I thought this was extremely morbid, dark and generally fucked up. Which is why I loved it. This movie is the type of movie I WANTED to see, but didn't think there was anything like that out there. I haven't read the story, but I really want to! I've always liked anything that came from Stephen King. But this movie plays on something that I think all people are scared of, hitch hiking in the dark, in the middle of nowhere, and to top it off you see things that aren't really there.
Very creepy. But very VERY interesting! I would definitely watch it again!
Hitchhiking on a foggy road so you can go visit your mother, who is in the hospital? Now that is creepy and everyone has a fear of being alone, in the dark, and in the middle of nowhere on some level. Enjoy the ride people!
Oh yeah, plenty of "scary images" but seriously, the character development along with plot development are FAR too slow for this movie to go anywhere. I sat for at least an hour waiting for something to happen that moved the story along, but instead he just keep hallucinating.
They Showed The Preview Of This Movie So Many Times That When It Came Out I Had To See It, I Didn't Think It Was Good Until I Saw It For The Third Time, Now I Actually Enjoy Watching This Movie, And It Was Kind Of Different To All The Stephen King's Movies That Always End Up Being Crappy And I Not Like Them.
It's a surprisingly entertaniing flick and pretty much captures the "vibe" of a Stephen King story better than most adaptations of his work. Some cool stuff for sure!
The latest in my reviews of movies that have been sitting on my shelf unwatched for a year or more. (thank God for summer reruns, lol)
Better than your average King adaptation, it has a "made-for-tv" or "direct-to-DVD" feel, but that's okay, because it DID go direct-to-DVD, lol. Great ending.
