I'm pretty sure Coen brother took from this film the ashes scene for "The Big Lebowski"
Great British "true life" movie much of the time it has that fly on the wall feel, especially on the building site. Ricky tomlinson and Robert Carlyle were brilliant. It's not a happy happy feel good movie but does shy away from the really gritty issues a bit.
