Riki-Oh is a not-so-cheap martial arts thrill, being the first film in China to get an X-rating without nudity, and the thing "Daily Show" with Craig Kilborn took a clip from to introduce each Five Questions segment. (smash a fake head)

Enter the Dragon (1973) and Lock Up (1989) meet braindead (1992)! What do you get?! One of the goriest, hilarious, violent, unrealistic and outrageous films ever made! Lik Wong brings pure gory entertainment that any martial arts fan and horror fan should see. I loved this one.
As absurdly violent as the film is and as silly as the plot turns out to be, Riki-Oh actually does make an impression with its over-the-top acting, outrageously hilarious, yet effective, special effects and the fast-paced editing. The movie's self-consciously stupid and excessive, but that's precisely what makes it so widly entertaining in its own way.
So this may just be the greatest action gore film I've ever seen. Okay fine, it is. Firstly this isn't "well-done" this is utterly ridiculous in an "I can't believe they are doing that" kind of way. I'd read about this film on Badmovies.org and was incredibly excited about getting to watch it. Oddly my husband had been looking to see this film for years and had forgotten what it was called until I brought it up, guess it was fate that brought us to Riki!
Our hero Riki (Ricky) was put in jail after getting revenge on the gangsters who nearly raped his Girlfriend. The prison is a crooked one however. There are four wings with four "characters" that try to keep Riki down. They aren't the only obstacle as some of the inmates are pretty darned violent and awful. One even breaks an old man's sailboat (for his grandson)...but no worries because Riki is there to avenge just about any wrong that is done.
Nearly everyone in this movie has super-human strength, but Riki may be the strongest character ever. He punches THROUGH people, survives the unsurvivable and well I don't want to ruin any of the bloody fun surprises. The writing isn't so great, and well the movie just is so excessive that it's hard to not get sucked in and enjoy the hell out of it. If you like excessive violence then you simply must see this...I insist!
This is the movie that made me desensitized to violence. After eye ball popping, gut ripping, skull crushing, cal trap falling, brain slashing, arm cutting, meat grinding, hand exploding, throat tearing, eye ball mint container...ing action, but it's so cheesy and a hell of a lot of fun.
Utterly ludicrous violence combined with an oddly melodramatic storyline. The Story of Ricky is so completely over the top that it will have the right crowd doubled over with laughter. Truly a cult classic.
Most hillarius way over the top gory kung fu cult movie i've ever seen! Pour storyline, but that's not what this movie is about, it's all about blood & gore.
This has to be one of the best kung-fu craziness put out by the chinese governtment showcasing the evils of capitalism and how communistic china is superior... lol it's way over the top... lots of fun....
Awesome movie! It's like the kung fu-movies Braindead! Insane amount of gore, outrageous story and hilarious characters! Super epic fight at the end! I might reconsider my view towards martial art movies after this... It would have scored five stars, if it hadn't been for that annoying "kid".
Seriously my 2 year-old nephew can act better than all the actors put together. The English voice over is more lame than I could have expected. Probably the most awesome part of the movie is the gruesomeness, which still doesn't impress me. Its like tomato sauce more than blood.

Ok, this movie is about a guy named Riki that was sent to prison for killing a man. The catch is that rich jerks can now own there own Jails and treat there prisoners however they please, like dropping cement on top of them, hiring some to kill others, and have them die a painful death if your bored. Well Riki wants to change all that. So just think of the best movie ever, that kind of what it's like.
YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!! i don't even have words to describe this masterpiece on the destruction of the human body!!! limbs are exploding left and right, entrails are flying across the screen and there is an asst. warden that keeps mints in his glass eye!!!!! don't watch it for the film aspect, or if you are squeemish (it's one of the bloodiest movies i've ever seen) just an all around good time for those of us with a sadistic streak :P.
absolutely ridiculous. one of the funniest movies i've ever seen. if you remember the opening montage of craig kilborn's "5 questions" on the old daily show (the guy's head getting crushed), you've seen a bit of this movie.
Absolutely mad and ridiculous Hong Kong movie about a man (Fan Sui Wang) who is imprisoned for avenging the death of his girl friend at the hands of drug dealers.
Ricky punches his way through people's torsos, heads, arms and even walls with super- human strength he acquired from a friend of his dead father.
This film excesses in so many areas. The gore is completely OTT. Want to see someone cut out his own intestines and try to strangle someone with them? Or someone havig their brain literally pnched out of their head? This is the film for you.
The characters are almost as ridiculous as the plot and gore. My fav being the deputy prison warden with a glass eye within which he keeps his supply of mints! while surrounded by porn videos in his office.
A great beer and popcorn movie.
