Decent cast, not very entertaining. The writing could have been a lot better. I probably wouldn't have finished watching it if it weren't for Lucy Liu and Michael Chiklis.
Note: It all starts with a whore who after being locked up in a cage upside down and then rescued is suggested to find herself some other job. And it's all downhill from there.
Since I learned before that Marilyn Manson has a cameo here - the man I still respect despite his artistic decline in the last few years, wishing him the best with the next album at the end of year - I waited this cheap burger out to see it. He seemed to be the only one who was properly casted, although I still wonder what he was doing there in the first place.
Below my expectations this film was, some quality actors given a weak script to work with but do their best.
The plot holds nothing new, human turned into vampire and wants revenge on creators.
Some decent bloody moments and an almost film noir feel to it don't raise i above the average bar unfortunately.
This is a pretty cool movie that I'd never heard of, but I saw it on Netflix and decided to add it to my queue. Oh, yeah... Lucy Liu is *incredibly* hot in it!!!
Basically your standard modern vampire flick (think the BLADE and UNDERWORLD films). Some nice eye candy in the form of Lucy Liu and Carla Gugino, and it's always cool to see Michael Chiklis, but the story and execution are so familiar that I could barely get through it.
Wow. Who?d ever think that Lucy Liu would make such a sexy vampire? She looks better than the lead vampire in Underworld. This movie is dark, and gothic, and loaded with blood, blood, and more blood. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because somehow director, Sebastian Gutierrez, forgot to put a pair of fake fangs in his casting crew?s mouths. That?s right ... you?ll not see one fang in this movie. Other than that, you get to see Sadie Blake (played by Lucy Liu) kill off the dreadful Los Angeles vampires who raped her and turned her into the undead without her permission and express written consent, if you will. LOL! She?s pretty much tenacious about doing so and menacing about it as if she were the Asian version of Wesley Snipe?s character, Blade. It?s not long before she convinces an ex police chief (played by Michael Chiklis from the FX?s ?The Shield?) who lost his daughter to the same vampires, to assist her with the nasty task of stopping the lead Vampire from doing this unforgivable act to any other innocent and unsuspecting humans. I urge anyone to watch this film and get ready to hold on to your seats for a bloody, vengeful & revengeful thrill ride.
Not the worst vampire movie ever made, but it is not exactly brilliant either. I do like the fact that all the vampires get killed because they turned the wrong chick.
Iliked it. It was interesting and the story was ok. The characters were interesting and it was a cool view on vampires. I have to say that I was entertained buy this movie. Lucy Liu was awesome as usual.
Now see those are what I would say "real" vampires would act like. Those weaknesses and powers except the whole mirror thing didn't make sense. The cloths wouldn't disappear.
Well...it has its moments--like a noirish opening it never lives up to--but overall it's a tired old mes of sad cliches, cheap thrills, and uneven performances. Sure, it's not the worst gritty pulp action vampire revenge flick out there, but it's not nearly above average either.
I'm not so sure of this flick yet, some parts seemed to drag on, the plot was kinda bland and seemed to be lacking something........ I'll rate this a 3 for now
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST, AND MOST LAME VAMPIRE MOVIE EVER. CERTAINLY AND PITFALL IN LIU AND CHIKLIS' CAREER. HORRIBLY PIECED TOGETHER AND NOT MUCH OF A STORY.

Luy Liu is great n this movie. Vampire moviesare more or less all the same but I kinda liked and disliked at the same time how in this movie there were no teeth hhmm
Hmm! I didn't love this... The acting was weak. Nick Lachey's cameo annoyed me. Still... I'm a little undecided with this, because I didn't hate it. Even though the acting was weak, and the direction wasn't excellent, I think it worked. The portrayals of the vampires were excellent! The way they managed to show the relationship between blood and sex was perfect! I'm a huge fan of vampires so I ask a lot of this type of movies, still, since I knew that this was a B-list movie I have to say that its definitely worth it. Its a little slow, but the killing parts, the sex parts, the reasons they gave to explain many plot traits and the mexican scenes were definitely strong and cool.
A little slow and not enough of Michael Chiklis' character hold this back from being one of the great ones. But it is still very enjoyable and has some great moments.
