Okay in a previous review I mentioned how Top Gun WAS the 1980's...no joke...it literally was the entire decade condensed into 2 hours. Well...that was until I saw Risky Business.....THIS MOVIE IS THE 80'S TOO! So now it's like both films are together the 80's...I mean damn it's like a cosmic explosion of epitomes...
Gnarly underwear dancing scene bra! Tubular train fuckin scene brosef! Reggae pimp chase sequence homie!
Slick little film,Cruise in his early days and yet the indecency behind the plot covers a truly unsatisfying prejudice to mayhem. Why can't this film go to the limits and show exactly the underground wretchedness of so-called pimps and lousy post-teens?Because most Hollywood films are safe...
The coolest movie of 1983, where Tom Cruise truly shines, as a teen who decides to have a party while his parents are away, but it becomes a disaster of epic scale. A well paced fun flick with only some truth and consequences. Riffed and spoofed countless times since.
With a career of 25 years, Tom Cruise has never done a good movie, or pull out a good performance. Why in the bloody hell this guy is a star? Guess i answered myself there.
Risky Business was a great movie, I liked it a lot. It was a bit boring at some parts and was very unrealistic but it had a great plot and lots of funny parts.
The best part, to me, of "Risky Business" is cranking up Bob Seeger and dancing in underwear, which was what made Tom Cruise a box-office superstar. Four stars!
Awwww... Poor little rich kid tries to 'roll with the big boys' and he gets burned. Dumb ass cracker. (AND I'M A WHITE CHICK WHO IS WRITING THIS COMMENT!)
very strong performance from Cruise. a far-fetched but nonetheless amusing comedy with a great soundtrack (even though the techno score was obnoxious) and down-to-earth lead characters. a classic 80s movie and some risque entertainment.
Watched this over the weekend. I hadn't seen it since going to the theatre back when it first released. Cruise looked so verrrry young. Can't imagine the GPA and SAT scores mentioned in the film even being considered by Ivy League to warrant the interview....lol I forgot that Booger was in the movie, that was a laugh, and then to see his reaction and backpedaling attitude during the hotel/car chase scene when he was so blaise' about saying "sometimes you just have say - what the %^&$*#" . It was fun to see a movie from my youth, and notice the difference in perceptions from that time...to now.
One of the best comedies of the 80s. Cruise dancing to Seger is now an all-time classic scene. Solid support with Pinchot & Pantoliano. Still appealing (and De Mornay was hot!) to watch over 20 years later!
This is a sexual coming-of-age story that has its moments. Mainly, the iconic scene that everyone knows about (dancing in underwear scene) considering that some people still haven't seen the actual film. Tom Cruise is made a star from this movie and I found it pretty entertaining but nothing more. Overall, not a bad film, entertaining at best.
ah, here we are, the film that catapulted Tom into the spotlight...it is an ok film, but he comes off as arrogant then as he does now, and I seem to get that from a lot of his movies. I do like him and some of his films, he just needs to come back to earth.
I felt kind of naughty watching this movie as a kid. The entire movie is so iconic and has generated so many cliches, you have to see it if you haven't.
Tom is so hot in this movie almost makes me s----- he has to work out of his house to get some money and the business lets say is a little old fashin prostituion
