Marilyn Monroe is exactly everything that I despise in celebrities and the opposite sex. Her life was always about being noticed for her body, and she would do anything to be noticed and to be rich. She is most famous for having an affair with who I deem to be the worst president ever, JFK. She also has an annoying voice and could not act for crap. As far as her movies go, you can count me out, for I would rather spend a day listening to Whoopi attempt to sound intelligent.
This was the best Marilyn movie...in my opinion. She did not just play her stereotypical role that she was known for. The chemistry between her and Robert Mitchum was electric. I loved to love this movie!!
There aren't too many reasons to watch this one, besides gawking at Marilyn for an hour and a half. Robert Mitchum's alright, but it starts going downhill when he gets his ass kicked by a guy half his size.
Not much of a believable story. You can really feel that nobody wanted to make this one; it's static all over. But if you like Marilyn Monroe, it might be worth the time.
marilyn monroe and robert mitchum in one movie!! she couldn't be further away from her part in diamonds are a girls best friend and he's actually the good guy for once. everyone always rememebers how good he was as the nasty ex con in cape fear. marilyn looks as luscious as ever... yummy. how come there's no full figure female actresses around these days? they all look so plain and boring. skinny as a rake aint attractive if ya ask me, and monroe's just right!! i liked the shootin' of the scenery. some of it's captured very well. the indians dont really have a big part in it, but the on screen tension and chemistry between tomboy MM and good guy but still badass RM is great. three cheers for otto
This is my favorite old western musical from Marilyn Monroe. Favorite part is when she sings playing an acoustic gutair the songs called One Silver Dollar. I've always been a big Marilyn Monroe fan
marilyn didn't want to make this which explains her sometime stiff performance but when she sings she's luminous and her interaction with robert mitchum and tommy rettig is good. the cinematography is beautiful, make sure to watch it in widescreen.
A western, Marilyn seems out of place yet the story makes her fit and soon her charm gets through and you cannot seperate her from her character and the movie... though westerns are not my favorite genre, this is more of a wilderness survival movie with a beautiful girl thrown in with a ruggedly handsome man and his son... a family movie in a way... as the characters build a family-feeling up with their own slightly damaged bricks...
