A passable, intermittently entertaining version of the classic saga, but the best rendition still is the 1938 Errol Flynn swashbuckling film.

Adequate version of the classic tale, Bergin is certainly preferable to Kevin Costner in Prince of Thieves and Krabbe is good but Uma is a blah Maid Marian and the whole thing is murky. Not a bad try but nothing beats the Errol Flynn version.

Patrick Bergin was not bad as Robin Hood but not much as Kevin Kostner. I think Kevin Kostners perfomance as Robin Hood will stay a legend.

Released at the same time as Prince Of Thieves, it lacks Costner's dubious star presence, Bryan Adams' nauseating ballad and much of the Hollywood gloss of it's contemporary. And is all the better for it. But it's still not that great.
