'I'd buy that for a dollar'!
    Classic!

Gangs and criminal masterminds are generally unafraid of the cops, especially in the movies. They can either buy them out, kill them, or have someone else take the fall when the cops close in. So what happens in a future where anyone who commits a crime has no fear of the polic...( read more)e force. Why, they're only human. RoboCop brings up another scenario. What if the police force could not be killed? Could not be reasoned with? And what of the people programming them? Can we trust that they are not as corrupt or greedy as the criminals they seek to eradicate? RoboCop reflects on these questions, but only so much as they don't get in the way of the action. And what an action picture this is. It's excessively, excessively violent, but in a strangely comedic way. Peter Weller is quite a gifted actor, as he's able to make us sympathize with a machine that for the most part, doesn't seem at all like a human being. The effects are a bit dated, only because we've become spoiled with CGI that moves too fast for us to realize we are watching CGI. A great action picture, nonetheless!

Brutal and truely rockhard, the action in this is sooo violent but its just sooo good, the best action sci-fi flick made. Verhoeven is the over the top gore action master with plenty of dark humour.
Still looks gorgeous today, epic :)

"Part man. Part machine. All cop. The future of law enforcement."

In a dystopic & crime ridden Detroit, a terminally wounded cop returns to the force as a powerful cyborg with submerged memories haunting him.

For all its almost cartoonish violence and grim theme, RoboCop is an extraordinarily prescient satire of the levels to which society can, and in some cases already has, degenerated. From runaway corporate greed to preposterous three-shift-class cocaine processing plants, RoboCop only missed becoming a seminal warning piece because far too many people were satisfied with it as merely an action film. Nonetheless, repeat viewings only strengthen this film, and make its sequels that much more tragically bad.

Interesting look at 80's style TV news coverage and advertisements trying to be near future news and ads. Good effects when it comes to Robocop, bad effects with the other evil security robot. Spurting blood, a man instantly mutated by toxic ooze, lots of fire arms raking acros...( read more)s a warehouse and not killing most of the henchmen, and futuristic hand-held cannons - so many classic sci-fi action cliches. When Robocop takes his helmet off I was surprised to realize how much of a homage to Darth Vader it was.

Hmm, most see this movie as cheesy, but its got good qualities as well, i mean, hes a Robocop, part machine, part human, 100% Cop, its a classic, wish i could say the same for the other 2, but hey, you don't always pull a winner. If you haven't seen it yet, you must.

A Verhoeven masterpiece. Officer Murphy is killed on duty but reborn as OCP's newest crime fighter - Robocop. Very violent. The best of the trilogy.

A must-see. This film have influenced on a lot of modern sci-fi movies. Now it's a bit naive
