My favorite movie as a child. Tell me it wouldn't be cool to get in an accident and have an amazing ability because of it. I'd dominate in the MLB. Some lame scenes, but cool movie.

Rooke of the Year is a family/comedy about a kid named Henry Rollingardner (Thomas Ian Nicolas) who lets his baseball team down. One day, that all changes when Henry has an accident that causes him to hurt his arm. From getting hurt, Henry gets something in return where he has th...( read more)e gift to rotate his arm with strong tendancies. Henry's favorite baseball team hires him to pitch for them where they need someone to bring their game back. Later on, Henry begins to feel like everything has been too easy for him where he's been missing out on his childhood. Henry must choose whether to stick with his gift or his family/friends.

Rooke of the Year was a decent comedy with some hillarious parts. It was entertaining enough to make yourself like it. The acting wasn't bad. It was actually the best thing about the film. The movie is very realistic but makes you think what you could end up with if you were in Henry's situation. Still is was fun little film for the whole family to enjoy. I would watch it again every now & then. I actually grew up watching this when i was very little. I still like it & i'm adult now. It seems like no matter how old i get, i wont stop watching it. Rookie of the Year will always be one of my favorite family comedies. So if your looking for a decent family/comedy that has a few good laughs check this one out.
